• 77 percent households have no garbage collection system, 37 percent have no
wastewater disposal system

IMPACTS
• 110 children die every day (39000 children every year)
• 3 million people annually hospitalized due to waterborne disease
• 50 percent of these deaths can be reduced by just hand washing with soap
• 4 percent of GDP losses because of sanitation and water related issues
