sections.
2. All questions are compulsory.
3. Internal choice is given in section B, C and D.
4. Question numbers 1-4 are objective type questions including Multiple Choice Questions,
Assertion Reasoning type questions, Fill in the blanks and Very short answer type
questions. These are to be answered in one word or one sentence each.
5. Questions 5 to 11 in section B are three marks questions. These are to be answered in
about 50 words.
6. Questions 12 to 17 in section C are five marks questions. These are to be answered in
about 70 words.
7. Questions 18 to 23 in section D are based on practical skills. Questions 18 to 20 are of one
mark each. These are to be answered in one word. Questions 21 to 23 are of three marks
each. These are to be answered in brief.

12 Write the balanced chemical equations for the following reactions and identify the type of 5

(i) Magnesium ribbon is burnt in an atmosphere of nitrogen gas to form solid magnesium

(ii) Chlorine gas is passed in an aqueous potassium iodide solution to form potassium chloride
solution and solid iodine.
