The document outlines four photography assignments focusing on different types of motion and techniques like panning to freeze or blur motion using different shutter speeds.

The shutter speed assignments aim to have students practice capturing motion by freezing jumping, running, and other actions using fast shutter speeds, as well as blending motion with background blur using slower shutter speeds.

Assignment #2 focuses on freezing motion of a running person, any motion, flipping book pages, and any other motion using a high shutter speed.

Assignment #4: Panning

In this photo shoot you will use the panning technique to freeze the motion of a moving object. Take five
photos in shutter priority mode and use a longer shutter speed like 1/15sec or 1/30sec.

What is panning?
Panning is as a technique that gives the shot a feeling of movement and speed. It’s particularly useful in
capturing any fast moving subject whether it be a racing car, running pet, cyclist etc. You pan your
camera along in time with the moving subject and end up getting a relatively sharp subject but a blurred
background.

Criteria

● Practice panning first

● Create a new page on your website titled “Panning”.
● Upload the photos (five or more) to the page. Caption each photo and include the shutter speed.
