Abstract- This study analyze the short story God sees the truth, but waits
by Lev Nikolaevich Tolstoi. This aim to find out what is God sees the truth, but
waits means. To know the message behind of the story that the author wanted
to share to the reader. By the use of literary criticism which are Symbolism
Criticism, Cultural Criticism and Moral/Ethical Criticism we can analyze the
story. These theory help to understood the message of the story. This study
