For health practitioners, the topic of emotional health among the older adults is very crucial.
Studies on the role of physical health in promoting emotional health for this population have
been exhaustive. Thus, the current study aims at filling this gap. The goal of this research is to
identify the relationship between physical exercise and emotional health among the older adults.
The study further aims at finding out the effects of varying physical activities on the emotional
health of the elderly people. From the study, the existing relationships can be used to give
recommendations on the appropriate physical activities for the older adults. More so, upon
establishing the relationship, relevant guidelines will be provided for caregivers as well as for the
aged.
The study's primary research question is whether increased physical activity influences
the emotional health of the older adults. Specifically, the study investigates the impact of
This study is important as it is going to identify the existing gap left by previous studies
and provide relevant answers to those gaps. From the study, the actual relationship (either
positive, negative or none at all) between physical activity and emotional health of the elderly
will be identified. The results will be useful for healthcare providers, organizations dealing with
the elderly, caregivers and health practitioners who have the responsibility of dealing with the
elderly. The cost incurred when dealing with the emotional health of the elderly is high, and thus,
there is a need to find out if physical activity can help in reducing that cost. Recommendations
from this study will be useful in promoting the physical, mental and emotional health of the

elderly. Thus, this study will be relevant when combined with others before it in providing
solutions geared towards the emotional health and well-being of the older adults. The findings
can also be extrapolated by health promoters to adolescents with Down syndrome after
Older adults suffer from mental conditions such as depression. Among these people,
physical activity is a critical aspect of the development and advancement of their emotional
health. Through physical activities, the elderly can connect with their loved ones directly.
Although exercise has been shown to be very significant to the general health of the elderly, the
public is now not well sensitized on this matter. This study looks at emotional health and
identifies the benefits that one may get from the physical activity. The study will provide
insightful information that could be utilized by health practitioners in dealing with emotional
health issues of the elderly. The report will also offer guidelines on the right approach to use
when health practitioners are championing the promotion of emotional health issues in schools,
In Saudi Arabia, older adults have almost no access to services. More so, there is a limited
research relating to the elderly emotional health in this country. Conducting such a study will be
instrumental for me as I get insights into the issue, and I may use the study as a guide for me as I
work as a health promoter. The elderly are largely inactive in the population. This is because age
and health status tend to limit their physical activity and abilities. This research may come up
with results that will help the elderly in adjusting their daily routine to cater for physical
activities so as to enhance their emotional and physical health. Also, as a result of age, the

elderly may have social health issues. Thus, this report will offer a guideline that may allow the
caregivers and health practitioners to help the elderly to cope and appreciate their position in the
society as active and valuable members. Physical activity promotes both mental and emotional
health, which are vital to helping the elderly live a normal life in the society.
