FIRST “CRY”
This report is all about Gregoria De Jesus Version of the First Cry. Gregoria
De Jesus was born in Caloocan, Philippines on May 9, 1875. She is also known
as “Oriang” and a housewife of Andres Bonifacio. She was played a heroic role in
the Philippine Revolution and also she was one of the four children of Nicolas De
Jesus and Baltazara Alvarez Francisco. Her Father was a native of Caloocan, a
master mason and carpenter by profession who had been Teniente del barrio and
later became a Gobernadorcillo of the town, and her mother, a native of Noveleta,
Cavite, was a nephew of General Mariano Alvarez.
Gregoria De Jesus was one of a kind. She was a very strong woman and also
dedicated and a good leader in the womens Chapter of Katipunan in the
Philippines. Gregoria was asssigned to be the keeper of the important documents.
Gregoria is a very good example to every woman today in our society because
despite of being woman she still made a name in our Philippine History. She also
brought strength to women that time wherein women are always portrayed as
weak. She has proved that in every man’s success there is always a strong
woman behind him.
