NEWSLETTER
Dear Colleagues
I am very pleased to introduce to you this newsletter with a fresh new look and a very
rich content that you will soon discover.
This newsletter marks a new era for Archetype. After a first phase of organic growth,
followed by a second phase of expansion with the acquisition and integration of Tebodin
APAC, we are now going into the third phase of our development, with the official
relocation of our headquarters to Paris, France.
This phase promises to present us with interesting experiences and it is the result of our
vision of “Being a leading construction consultancy for world-class projects”.
Thanks to this relocation, we will be able to accompany, in a better and more upstream
way, our French and European clients to every corners of the globe. We have actually
started the momentum with the signatures of our first contract in South America (Brazil)
for Diana, and our first contracts in Africa (Ivory Coast and Cameroon) for Bollore.
As a result, I have now just moved to France to drive this new international development
and I will remain the Group General Director. There will be no other organizational change
and most of our group team will remain in Asia, since this market will still represent more Pierre-Jean Malgouyres
than 85% of our activity in 2019. You will see me at least once a year in your respective General Director
country since I will be back in Asia every 2 to 3 months for 1 to 2 weeks, for those who
might miss me ;)
Within the coming months and years, you can expect to see a lot of direct and indirect benefits from this
relocation of our headquarters, as it will generate new opportunities and challenges, for each of you to explore
new territories, develop yourselves and be part of an amazing story.
Today, and together, we are “Shaping Tomorrow”!
Best regards,
Pierre-Jean

Dear Archetype readers and Tomorrow’s shapers,
COLLABORATION
Collaboration between Archetype entities is a vital component and a unique strength of our
business model, giving us the opportunity to have access to missing expertise and allowing
each entity to sustain its activity in tough times. It is in our D.N.A.
Yet… is it put to the test from time to time? Yes…but the good news is that it can be
overcome in a smoother way than usual.
We could start by tackling the challenges of communication issues, different client care
Jeremy Sarawy understanding, short-term thinking, one-sided deal, demanding clients requiring local
Group Operations &
Services Director interactions, language challenges, regulations knowledge requirements, etc…
But…what if interoffices collaboration challenges could be mitigated by solving inter teams challenges, within
your own entity?
Working effectively as a team is not an innate quality for the majority. This requires "work", both on oneself
and on the organization. Here are a few tips:

Food Industry, together with Pharma and Chemical, has been one of the top priorities in Archetype China business
development strategy. In the past years, Archetype China has been chasing closely important players in food industry.
Our objective is to expand step by step our operation and strengthen our reputation in this industry. We are pleased to
share a fruitful result with following contracts signed.
ANDROS PROJECT
Shandong, China
Andros Group is a world-famous manufacturer specialized in fruit related products. Archetype China is now
performing Design Review service for its greenfield fruit jam plant project sized 24,000 m2 in Shandong
Province, China. This project requires engineering expertise in food process.
By successfully delivering it, Archetype China will be in a strong position to seize further opportunities in future
cooperation, and undoubtedly this project adds one more significant reference in the food industry.
On the 3rd and 4th of April, Hotelivate successfully hosted the annual Hotel
Investment Conference South-Asia (HICSA), attended by thousands of
delegates from hoteliers, investors, bankers, developers, architects, and
interior designers. The event provided great opportunities for hospitality
players to explore and discuss trends of the industry, especially the
development lifecycle of a hotel.
Archetype participated this event with an exhibition booth set-up to showcase
some of our hospitality projects, some of which had won previous HICSA
award such as the JW Marriott hotel in Delhi.
We are currently working on several notable hotels in South Asia, such as
the Hilton hotel in Bangladesh and Four Points by Sheraton in India, together
with new contracts for hotels under the Marriott brand in Bangladesh. Therefore, we look forward to having
our projects entered the HICSA award in the near future.

MASTER PLANNING & CONCEPT DESIGN FOR A 50 HECTARES SEED RESEARCH FARM
Chiang Mai, Thailand
East West Seed (EWS), one of the 10 largest vegetable seed companies engaged us for Master Planning and
Conceptual Design of a large project in Chiang Mai province: 320-rai farmland to be used as a Seed Research farm,
to study the effects of different farming conditions.
Our challenge is therefore to provide a layout allowing the client to have a clear view on how to develop this land
over the next 4 years. In addition of farming land plots, there will also be a new office, laboratory and greenhouses.
A good opportunity for our architectural and engineering teams to show their skills for a new type of agricultural
project!

PROJECT MANAGEMENT PRE–CONSTRUCTION FOR HYATT HOUSE
Bangkok, Thailand
The Hyatt House S23 project is a 24-story Luxury Services Apartment project, located on Sukhumvit Soi 23 (GFA of
24,000 m2, 240 executive apartments, Japan-style automatic horizontal parking system).
Thanks to our incomparable experience in design and project management for luxury projects, we were awarded
by INSAF Pre-Construction Project Management. With a construction start planned in Q1 2020, Archetype is well-
positioned to be engaged as Project Management and Construction Management.
Central Group Vietnam appointed Archetype Vietnam to perform Tender Management for Big C Buon Me Thuot
project. This additional mission is another step to a closer relationship with the Client, and might lead to more
projects under the GO! brand-name in the near future.
We also signed one Master Planning services contract with the same investor as the Royal Hoi An project: the 23ha
An Van Duong New City Project, in Hue. Hopefully, like for the Royal Hoi An, it will lead to a full design opportunity.
From the Architectural Design contract of last year, with BRG Group for Hilton Garden Inn Saigon, Archetype Vietnam
is now awarded for Interior Design package too!
Finally, for their first step in the Asia Pacific region, TUI Blue hotel brand has chosen Quang Nam – one of Vietnam’s
hottest spot – in cooperation with TMG, to develop TUI Blue Tam Ky project. Archetype Vietnam has been selected
for this renovation to TUI Blue standard of an existing yet unfinished project: from revising Master Plan, Architecture
/Engineering/Interior Design to Project Cost Management, our rich technical experience will be key for this
challenging project.
