     This is the basis of modern medicine.
    Hippocrates (Father of western Medicine)
     Ars longa, vita brevis - "Life is short, the Art long."
     ‘There is so much art to learn and so little time to learn it in.’ In the original saying of
    Hippocrates, the Greek surgeon, it referred to the art of healing: ‘
     Wrote more than sixty works referred to as the Corpus (believed not to be the work of a single
    man of that name).
     The corpus was gathered in the library of Alexandria.
     Established medicine as an art, science and profession of value.
     At his time, magicians and unqualified people were competing with physicians.
     Health and disease are capable of reasoning independent of supernatural powers.

     Fire – yellow bile
     Earth – black bile
     Water – phlegm
     Air – blood

    *Balance between humors is made by bloodletting, inducing purging (laxatives), vomiting, sneezing,
    and urination.
    *Black bile is a sign of internal bleeding (malena, hematurea, hematemesis).
    *Phlegm as in winter colds.
