GENERAL INDUSTRIAL SEALING

150
SIMPLE, RELIABLE, AND
A F F O R DA B L E

With proven Chesterton quality, the 150 is a value

leader in its class. It is the ideal choice to reduce high 4
maintenance costs and prevent wasteful leakage, shaft
fretting damage, and inefficient downtime.

Designed for baseline applications and for upgrading packed

or component sealed equipment, the 150 seal makes general
industrial sealing simple, reliable, and affordable.

Advantages of upgrading to the 150 preassembled 6

cartridge design:
■ Prevents shaft fretting and o-ring damage
■ Eliminates measuring, minimizing installation error
■ Increases seal life with a proven, balanced design
■ Saves shaft sleeves from packing wear
■ Eliminates leakage associated with packed pumps

The 150 is the economical solution to meet

the needs of today’s industry.
■ Constructed of high quality materials
■ Fits popular ANSI/ISO and vertical pumps
■ Fast and easy installation
■ Field and factory reparability
■ Optional quench and drain capabilities
■ Worldwide, off-the-shelf availability
1 Installs Easily and Accurately
Multi-directional centering clips
automatically position the seal and set
consistent spring pressure.

2 Improved Cooling
2
The gland annulus provides significantly
3 more process fluid at the seal interface for
5
effective cooling. This is particularly beneficial
where tight pump clearances exist.
1
3 Avoids Clogging
Multi-coiled springs provide even,
consistent face load, and are placed out
of the sealing fluid to avoid clogging.

4 Enhanced Torque Capabilities

Heavy-duty drive lugs reduce wear damage
and handle higher starting torque.

5 Optimized Seal Face Geometrics

Through finite element analysis, the
composite seal face design is optimized to
improve lubrication and extend seal life.

6 Quench and Drain Option

Quench and Drain option allows the
150 to be applied to a wider range of
applications.
