Following are guidelines for preparation of case study written assignment / report.
Cover Page
Cover page should include student’s name, student ID, submission date & lecturer’s name.
Format
Case study report must be prepared on an A4 size with 2 cm margins on the left, right, top and
bottom. Prepare the text using Arial font size 12. All text paragraph should be 1.5 line spaced.
Do not include page numbers and running heads. Figures and images which are not cited in the
text should not be presented. All reports must have Introduction, Content (case study question),
Conclusion and Reference.
Introduction
Introduction should have information pertaining to the case study. Students are advised to
understand the topic and have adequately made their thorough analysis of the case study before
start writing the introduction. Student must able to extract the correct and appropriate facts in
relation to their case study questions. The page length should be within 1-2 pages that include
texts, figures and references in citation. It should have approximately 500 words.
Content (Case Study Question)
Your content should include information analyzed from the case study and its key issues.
Students need brainstorming among their members to integrate whatever knowledge sought
through the lectures to ascertain a mechanism to solve the case study. The maximum page length
should not exceed more than 4 pages depending on the questions given. Explanation on the
answer for the case study must be supported with relevant references. .
Conclusion
It’s a summary of given case study. Conclusion must be in a form of short paragraph. It must
contain your own words excluding references in citation. Approximately 150 to 200 words.
References
Students are encouraged to use multiple resources namely books, journals article, scientific
magazines and reputable online websites. You are strongly advised to adhere to UiTM guidelines
on thesis writing. Please ensure that references cited in the text are also present in your
references list (vice versa). There must be more than 4 references and should be in an
alphabetical order.
The reference itself must include the following:
➢ All the author listed on the publication (or on the chapter if citing a book) ➢ Year of
publication (in bracket) ➢ The title of the paper (or book) ➢ Editor if a chapter of a book is
cited ➢ Edition if a book is cited ➢ Volume number ➢ Issue number (some journal article have
an issue number)

Example: Mark Johnson → Johnson, M. Example: Mohammad Razi Mohamad Jan → Mohamad

Turnitin
Students must submit their case studies along with turnitin reports. Turnitin is a
software-as-a-service website which checks submitted documents against its database and the
content of other websites with the aim of identifying plagiarism. Student’s turnitin reports must
contain less than 30% similarities. Kindly refer to your individual lecturer for further information
on how to run your case study reports using turnitin software.

Assessment Rubric
This assignments are meant to evaluate student’s performances under PLO 7: skills on
Information management and lifelong learning. Thus, for code BIO270 the written assignment
reports are focused mainly on the aspect of skill in information management. Information
management is define as collecting information from one or more sources and distributing them
to one or more users. Below are the details on assessment rubric for each sub attribute according
to the level of applicability whereas performance criteria measured as very weak, weak, fair,
good and very good.
