Button magazines

A button is the most popular of all fasteners ( a zipper may disagree). It is

usually a small round disc, that secures an opening in garments, accessories and
home decor. It is typically made of plastic but other materials are not
uncommon. Other than functionality buttons are great as embellishment as well.

Button magazines provide information of related to buttons such as size of

button, material of button , no of holes buttons ,category of button etc

Flat Buttons

The most common buttons are fairly flat, with 2 or 4 holes in the centre.
They’re easy to attach to hand knits by sewing a fine yarn or sewing thread
though the holes. There is an enormous amount of choice available, from plain
plastic through wood, metal and glass buttons to hand-crafted ceramic ones

Shank buttons

These buttons look rather like a ring with an over-sized diamond in them. The
shank is the stem the button sits on and is used to attach the button to the
fabric. Shank buttons stand proud of the fabric which makes them an ideal
choice for chunky handknits. For the same reason, they can look a little odd and
floppy if used with a fine fabric.

3
Stud buttons or jeans buttons

These are much like shank buttons but instead of a hole they have a pin which is
attached through the fabric to secure the button in place. These are a nightmare
on handknits as the knitted fabric is made up almost entirely of holes, so there’s
nowhere to secure the button.

Toggles

Long, skinny and often rounded, toggles can be used as buttons in buttonholes
or with a loop fastening. Their length lets them slip through smaller holes than a
similar round or square button so they’re a secure choice. They tend to be
statement pieces and are often made of wood and attached as a flat button would
be, through two holes in the centre of the button.

7 Press Buttons / Snap Buttons

Press buttons or press studs or snap buttons are very easy to use button fasteners
and are usually used on kids clothes and bibs and back of adult garments. No
fumbling with buttons to pry them out of the buttonholes.

They are made of brass and are nickel-plated or plastic which is painted. These
snap studs come usually in a silver colour. But you also get them in all other
colours which are usually painted. The buttons consist of two parts – a female
part and a male part, which come together to snap and form your fastener.

. Decorative buttons

5
These include buttons made with special materials like beads, crystals, Pearls,
lac, coconut shells, sea shells, wax, horns of different animals(Ivory) or buttons
with interesting shapes. They may be functional but they sure are decorative

Materials of button

Plastic Buttons

These are small plastic discs with four holes, made of Polyamide or
Polyacrylonitrile.

Metal Buttons

These are the sturdy buttons used on jeans and on leather garments. Jeans
buttons and cuff links are metal buttons which are widely used.

Wooden Buttons
Buttons made of wood – not quite often used but they have a charm of their
own. They are mostly decorative.

Glass buttons:Buttons made of glass.

Fabric Buttons

Buttons made with cloth or yarn. These are easy to make and are used as a
decoration as well as a fastener. You can check out the posts on making the
fabric buttons here and the Chinese frog fasteners

Cloth Covered Buttons made with kits

6
Imagine you want buttons in the same cloth as the dress you are making. Cloth
button covering kits to your rescue. Just pass the buttons through the kit along
with your fabric and you have neatly tucked fabric covered buttons.

Different sized buttons

Ligne is the standard measure for buttons. One ligne is equal to 0.635 mm or
0.025 inch and it indicates the diameter of a button. Buttons vary greatly
according to the ligne. Professionals refer to buttons as 12L (Ligne) 14L etc. On
shirts usually a 16 Ligne or higher button is used, On sleeves a 15 Ligne button
and for button down shirts 12 ligne button on the collars. On pants the button is
24L.

Different holed buttons

This refers to the holes in the buttons. Most buttons have 4 holes but some come
with 2 holes

Transport rail / conveyor belt

Introduction:

A conveyor belt is an essential tool in the material handling sector. They are the continuous
moving strips that are used for carrying different materials from one place to another. Mostly
used for conveying a large volume of materials in a short span of time. A conveyor belt is also
known as a belt conveyor.

Industrial Conveyor belt system

Industrial Conveyor belt system comprises of two or more pulleys. A continuous loop of
transport stream the conveyor belt rotates about them. In order to move the belt and the material
to transport one or both the pulleys should be power-driven.

These belts are generally made of rubber, PVC, Urethane, Neoprene, Nylon, Nitrile, Polyester,
leather and others. The industrial conveyor belts are made up of multiple layers of material.

Conveyor Belts that are used for Industrial Purposes:

Almost all of the manufacturers and suppliers were greatly dependent on the manpower before
the emergence of industrial conveyor belts. The safety of the workforce and the quality of the
product is a major issue under the manual handling of the products. In the current industry-driven
scenario these rotating pulleys and belts are chosen for product handling.

Types of Conveyor Belts that are used in Industries:

8
The major types of conveyor belts that are used in industries are as follows:

 Flat Belt Conveyors

A number of powered pulleys are used to move the continuous flat belts made up of Synthetic
and natural fabrics like polyester, nylon. These flat belt conveyors are the most commonly used
and easily adaptable industrial conveyor systems.

 Modular Belt Conveyors

This type of conveyor belts comprise of individual and interlocked belting and are generally
made of hard plastic.

 Cleated Belt Conveyors

Alongside the belt’s width, there are vertical cleats put together in these cleated Belt Conveyors.

 Curved Belt Conveyors

This type of conveyor belt carries materials around the corners of the floor making the best
possible way to use up the available floor space with its unique curved frame feature.

 Incline or Decline Belt Conveyors

Incline or Decline Belt Conveyors are made used when the materials are needed to be conveyed
at an angle of conveyance.

Importance of Conveyors in Industrial Automation

9
The conveyors in industrial automation have a wide range of purposes and use, ranging from
the manufacturing sector to the packaging and supply.

Below are the main reasons which will enlighten the importance conveyors in industrial
automation systems.

Manual Waste Reduction

In a material handling industry, there would be specific tasks in a process which require
transporting objects which are heavy in the line of production. In the course of accomplishing
these tasks, there is a lot of manpower used and is wasted, adds no value to the production
process. Moreover, there are possibilities of human injuries and loss of lives.

To obtain an increased production over a short time span, an automated conveyor system should
be introduced in a material handling industry. This will make sure the manpower utilize their time
on critical business development tasks rather than wasting on unproductive work.

Flexibility guaranteed

Never assume that conveyors are inflexible and are motionless, Modular conveyors are very
much flexible and are used in several operations. On top of this, they are very much easy to
install.

As flexibility is the key, try choosing a modular conveyor system so that you are allowed to
customize your conveyor system for as per your requirement and serve you better.

You can still achieve flexibility by installing a fixed conveyor system by proper configuration and
arrangement. Through this you can achieve flexibility by straight lines, this fixed conveyor system
can transport materials from many production and storage locations to the final destination.

Improved Quality Control

On the introduction of conveyors in industrial automation, one can eradicate the scrap and
thus would result in improved quality control. In addition, it also helps in identifying the crucial
problems related to the product like the faulty parts and unnecessary metal. Through an
automated conveyor system, one can organize products for the upcoming operations.

Among numerous advanced technologies, conveyors are widely popular in implementing a

manufacturing or production unit.
