You must connect (via FTP) to the ftpav.ca.com and download the signature
files the LCT, then connect to the APG40 nodes via Maintenance Port and
copy the files to the nodes.
Download signature files from the FTP area to temporary folder in your
LCT.
Connect to the ftp area (ftpav.ca.com). Logon as anonymous user.

CHANGE OF MTC(MESSAGE TYPE CHANGE)ON SP=8221 (XUDT UDT)
MSG=msg Message type
This parameter determines the SP capabilities to process one type of
messages or another.
0
The SP only recognizes Unitdata (UDT) and Unitdata Service (UDTS)
messages
1
The SP recognizes UDT, UDTS, Extended Unitdata (XUDT) and Extended
Unitdata Service (XUDTS) messages
2
The SP recognizes UDT, UDTS, XUDT, XUDTS, Long Unitdata (LUDT), and Long
Unitdata Service (LUDTS) messages
MTC=mtc Message type change
This parameter is only applicable to relay traffic and determines if the
received message can be changed in the own SP, according to parameter
MSG, before relaying the message to the SP.
0
Message type change not allowed
No change is required in the received message
1
Message type change allowed from XUDT or XUDTS to UDT or UDTS, and the
opposite is also true, or from LUDT or LUDTS to XUDT or XUDTS
Received message must be changed according to parameter MSG , if
possible

DATA CALLS
DATA CALL FROM POS
Due to the different BC the call was rejected
The problem with the data calls with the POS device, is due to the Bearer
capability request from the terminal. The terminal request a bearer of a
64Kbit/s Unrestricted data, which is normal for a ISDN line, but not for a GSM
link. The standard for GSM is a maximum of 9.6 Kbit/s unrestricted data.
We have been able to get this service working on the Ericsson MSS01/BSC07 node,
by activating an optional feature, named High Speed Circuit Switched Data
(HSCD). To activate this feature in the MSC, the subscriber profile on the HLR
must be changed to allow the full spectrun of GSM Asynchronous Data Services.
This is achieved by adding the SUD value of BS2G-1 to the subscriber profile on
the HLR, instead of the curent SUD value of BS26-1.
With this feature activated, the MSS01 node will allocate a default Bearer
service of 9.6 if the requested Bearer is not supported. In this case the
customer terminal requested a 64Kbit/s bearrer, although the requested User
rate is still 9.6Kbit/s. With the HSCD feature activated, the MSS node will
allow the call to continue, with a Bearer of 9.6Kbit/s even if the request was
for a 64Kbit/s bearer.
The resolve this problem, the Customers equipment should be changed, in such a
way that the requested Bearer Service should be 9.6Kbit/s instead of 64kbit/s,
or the HLR profile should be changed for the numbers used by this customer.
The High-speed Datacom Service feature allows the maximum speed for
circuit-switched data calls to be increased from 9.6 kbit/s, which
is the basic GSM rate,to up to a maximum of 57.6 kbit/s. This is
accomplished by combining: - High-speed Circuit-Switched Data (HSCSD)
which allows for up to four channels (multi-slot) to be allocated for
one call. - 14.4 kbit/s data channel coding which increases the data
throughput on one channel from 9.6 kbit/s to 14.4 kbit/s.
The two components can be combined or used individually.
Combining them allows for a maximum data throughput of 57.6 kbit/s.
(4 x 14.4 = 57.6 kbit/s.)

2.2 Tools
The Ericsson tool ACDC can be used to collect most printouts, and it is recommended
to do so.
! not in ACDC !
Such command must be executed on its own, i.e. it will not be executed within an
ACDC command.
ACDC commands:
dcge for Emergency Data Collection (use before restoring the node operation,
e.g. before a manual restart)
dcgcharging in case of charging related problem
dcgm for standard data collection (use after restoring the node operation)
dcgapg for collection of data from APG
ACDC result files will be stored on G:\ftpvol\ (for APG40) or to K:\ftpvol (for APG43)
directory.
ACDC result files shall be transferred from APG to a local computer and then
attached to a CSR or sent to Ericsson local support for analysis.

cudbDsgMastershipChange
This command is used to move the master of one DSG to a selected node.
It needs to be launched on the CUDB node that is to hold the new master
replica. The command works for both 1+1 and 1+1+1 configuration.
CUDB_21 SC_2_1# cudbDsgMastershipChange -d --dsg 3

Replication checking...
Replication in DSG3(Node=21--Chan=1).... OK -- Delay = 0
Warning: This step could stuck forever if the allowed synchronization
delay between the current master replica and the future master replica
is never reached. If you experience that the command takes too long to
finish you can stop the command with CTRL+C. You would have more
chances to finish the command execution by slowling down the traffic in
the master or using the option --time with a higher value.
\ Distance to master is 200. Proceeding...
