Wind Load in Staad
We have done so far in Staad pro. following during the recent posts
************************************************************
Now we are going to work with Wind loadings
STEP-1:-
Go to--definitions--wind definitions--add

We are now going to input the intensity details i.e, Wind intensities
with respect to height
..............................................................................................................
...................................
Note:-
1.You are supposed to calculate these values by the wind codes of
your respective countries like for India it is IS:875(Part 3)
2. If you are not able to calculate these loads you can go for the
"Calculate as per ASCE-7"Just input the details and its done.

On clicking add New box is opened asking for the Exposure Factor. It
depends upon location of the structure with respect to nearby
buildings. You can calculate these factor manually and input the
value and click add.
If no exposure factor is to be provided just close the box.
DONE, Wind definition part has been completed now moving on the
load cases.
STEP 4:-
go to--Load case details--add--wind load--WL+X(title) see Fig4

STEP 5:-
In Load case: WL+X
We Need to define 4 sub load cases
• Windward face in X direction with factor 1 (Fig 5)
• Leeward face in X direction with factor 1
• Leeward face in Z direction with factor 1
• Leeward face in Z direction with factor -1 (Fig 6)
Similarly For all the the Remaining 3 load case can be done
