Title:-

To study the use of Noise Dosimeter.

Objectives:-
Main objectives of this lab are:

1. To study about Noise Dosimeter.

2. To study about function and methodology of Noise Dosimeter.

Meter Parts:-

Display Description:-
It’s display have following parts:

1. Fast response time mode.

2. Slow response time mode.
3. Noise exposure test active.
4. Memory mode alert.
5. Noise exposure test posed.
6. Unit of measure for noise exposure test.
7. Battery stats indicator.
8. Event memory banks.
9. 115dB limit.
10. Numerical display digits.
11. Units of measure for sound level reading.
12. 140dB peak indicator.
13. Elapsed time mode for noise exposure test.

Procedure:-
1. Power ON/OFF by pressing green button.
2. The display will show dose criteria level and see(LC), threshold level(Lt) and exchange
rate(Er).
3. This meter display the SPL from 70-140dB, but it can read less than 78dB. For dB greater
than 150dBA headphone icon will display, for greater than 140dBA a peak detective icon
will appear.

data logging.
1. The internal memory can store 8800 reading.
2. Press the run key to start recording. The MEM icon will appear in the display.
3. To stop data logging press run key again, MEM will disappear.

Dosimeter operation(% dose)

1. Program the response time(Fast/Slow), criteria level(Lc), exchange rate(Er) and threshold
level.
2. Press mode button to select % dose as unit of measurement. Select an unused even bank
from E1-E5 using the event button.
3. % dose is the used to quantify noise exposure during work shift. 100% dose is maximum
allowable noise exposure according to OSHA and ISO standards.

criteria level
criteria level in dB are: 80, 84, 85 and 90..
100% dose parameter is determined by the following equation:
100%Dose=criteria level for 8 hours.

exchange rate
exchange rate in dB are: 3, 4, 5 and 6.
So, 100% dose= 4 hours on 5dB
100% dose= 8 hourse on 6dB

Conclusion:-
From this lab we learned about usefulness, functions and methodology of noise dosimeter
and it’s applications in daily life.
