Health Center Management System

Chapter 1: Project Charter
1.1 Project Background

Health center management system is a application developed for

hospitals to manage staff data and patients data effectively. the
main aim of developing health care management system is to
computerize the Front Office Management of Health Center. The
project health center management system includes registration of
patients, storing their details into the system. Healthcare is a field in
which accurate record keeping and communication are critical. The
software has the facility to give a unique id for every patient and
stores the details of every patient and the staff automatically. With
the increase of demand in health center, we need effective data
management system for handling patient’s data, staff data and
treatment details in an effective way. It deals with the collection of
patient’s information, diagnosis details, etc. It includes a search
facility to know the current status of each room. User can search
availability of a doctor and the details of a patient using the id.

1.1.1 Problem/Opportunity Description

 Unsecured files
Some files are accessible by the staff and it can be easily
altered or interfered by those unauthorized personnel.

 Slow retrieval of Data

It takes time to retrieve the data of the current transaction that the
administrator want to look at.

 Outdated System
The current system they are using is old and lack of features that
can interact with the suppliers that are willing to supply the
company.

1.1.2 Benefits

This system will be beneficial to the health center, health center

staffs, developers and future developers.

Health Center Management System

The Staffs
 This new improved system lessen the time and labor of the staffs
when it comes in locating some needed documents of the health
center for them to perform their task effectively and efficiently.

The Developers
 This system will serve as the developers training ground for the
future job as an information technology and will improved their skills
in developing a liable and beneficial system.

The Future Developers

 This system study will serve as basis for the future developers. There
are also certain things in this system study that they can improve by
doing a further analysis on the system.

1.1.3 Goals

 Service should be provided to patients in an efficient manner.

 Enquiry details about the drugs are to be maintained in the proper
way etc.
 Daily records are maintained such that the drugs are taken from the
main stores are dispatched in the proper way.
 Each and every patient record should be maintained in systematic
manner so that the searching process will be easy.

1.3.Project Plan

1.3.1 Approach and Methodology

Waterfall approach was first SDLC Model to be used widely in

Software Engineering to ensure success of the project. In "The
Waterfall" approach, the whole process of software development is
divided into separate phases. In this Waterfall model, typically, the
outcome of one phase acts as the input for the next phase
sequentially.

Requirement Gathering and analysis

All possible requirements of the system to be developed are
captured in this phase and documented in a requirement
specification document.
System Design
The requirement specifications from first phase are studied in
this phase and the system design is prepared. This system design
helps in specifying hardware and system requirements and helps in
defining the overall system architecture.
Implementation
With inputs from the system design, the system is first
developed in small programs called units, which are integrated in the
next phase. Each unit is developed and tested for its functionality,
which is referred to as Unit Testing.
Integration and Testing
All the units developed in the implementation phase are
integrated into a system after testing of each unit. Post integration
the entire system is tested for any faults and failures.
Deployment of system
Once the functional and non-functional testing is done; the
product is deployed in the customer environment or released into
the market.
Maintenance
There are some issues which come up in the client
environment. To fix those issues, patches are released. Also to
enhance the product some better versions are released.

Health Center Management System

Maintenance is done to deliver these changes in the customer
environment.
