POO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

NARRATIVE REPORT ON NUTRITION


MONTH
“Health is wealth”, a very famous saying that has huge and significant
meaning in human’s life. That’s why, human body can’t function properly
without proper diet and literally can’t be productive in all aspects of life. July
was set to celebrate Nutrition Month in our country. It was done yearly or
annually by the third week of the said month . This year’s theme is “ Kumain
nang wasto at maging aktibo...push natin ‘to!’’ as National Nutrition
Council ( NNC )said , t he campaign aims to contribute to reduce stunting and overweight and
obesity among Filipinos and the incidence of non-communicable diseases in the country. Thus, Poo
Elementary School joined the annual celebration of Nutrition Month
celebration so that every Filipino citizenry will be reminded that good health
habits and eating right kinds of foods are of great importance especially when
children’ s nourishment is involved.

The celebration was started by a parade and a short program with all the
students and faculty teachers of Poo Elementary School. It was formally
opened by an invocation followed by singing of the Philippine National
Anthem and the Lapu-Lapu March. It was followed by a welcome remark
given by Mrs. Felicidad Sumalinog, a Master Teacher and Grade VI adviser and
for the statement of purpose given by Ma. Catherine S. Baring, the Nutrition
Month Coordinator. The audience was entertained by an intermission number
from the selected Grade VI students under the advisory of Mrs. Genevive
Dayula. It was followed by the presentation of the A1 child in every section
where in the Grade I student, Rezeil Eyas was the winner. Next was the
reading of different activities and their schedules from Ma. Catherine S.
Baring, a grade 3 adviser. The master of ceremony was Mrs. Mary Jane O.
Tisoy, a grade 2 adviser and it was ended with a community song “ Makulay
ang Buhay”.

To further give our pupils the knowledge on the importance of nutrition month
we stewarded Nutrition Month Celebration and the students had a chance to
join the school level different contest , it was started last July 2, 2019 at it will
ends at the last week of this month. Moreover, different activities/contests
were conducted weekly starting with Nutri Quiz Contest ( July 5, 2019 )
facilitated and coached by Mrs. Genevive Dayula , Poster Making and Slogan
Contest ( July 8, 2019 )facilitated by grade 4 & 5 teachers, and lastly was the
cookfest ( July 9, 2019 )facilitated by Ms. Jamaica Pongcol and Mrs. Jocylin
Arong. After the activities done every week the most awaited part was the
announcing of winners which was announced by the respective facilitators in
each activities. The winners from the school level different contest were the

On the few days after, it was July 12, 2019 was the District Level Contest held
at Sta. Rosa Elementary School. The contest was started at 1:00 PM in the
afternoon. At the end of the day our very own Poo Elementary School
students bring home the bacon with flying colors. These are the following

Generally, the whole nutrition month was successfully celebrated with a


bang! It might be the end of the month but the essence of it was continue in
the next succeeding months and forever be of great importance in the daily
lives of the children and the people in the society. Teachers truly believed that
if we work together and always help each other, our goals will achieve better.
