Reaction Paper on Issues and Challenges in Human Resource Management

In any management or administration, issues and challenges are inevitable. Especially in

public administration, issues are undying part of every society. However, though these things
come naturally, interventions are made to mitigate problems that will affect the process of
management. In my report, several issues and challenges are discussed which are:

1. Advancement in technology
2. Workforce Training and Development
3. Recruiting Talented Employees
4. Employee Queries and Requests
5. Employee Queries and Requests
6. Dealing with Negative Coworker
7. Compensation

With rapid advancement in technology, companies nowadays require such human force
that has the ability to learn and cope with the changes at an opportune moment.

Investing in the training and development of lower-level employees is another common

HR problem. Some businesses have trouble finding the resources to do so. Employees on the
front lines are some of your hardest workers, and may not have the time to take a training course.

Attracting talent is a huge investment of time and money. It’s difficult for entrepreneurs
to balance between keeping a business running and hiring the right people at the right time. In
addition, it’s impossible to know whether a candidate will actually be a good fit until they’ve
worked for you for a period of time.

Your HR department likely deals with many requests and queries from employees
throughout the day. This could include queries about available time off, vacation time, or HR
issues with their paycheck. They may also receive requests for shift swaps and other scheduling
problems.
Some people exude negativity because they don’t like their jobs and they don’t like their
company. Their managers are always jerks and bad, bad, bad bosses.

They are always treated unfairly by their boss and their organization. They think that the
company is always going down the tube and that their customers are worthless.

Many companies are struggling with how best to structure employee compensation.
Small businesses have to compete not only with businesses of a similar size, but also with
corporations with big payroll budgets. Plus, you have to factor in the cost of benefits, training,
taxes, and other expenses, which can range from 1.5 to 3 times the employee’s salary.

These are just some of the numerous problems that an HR Management is experiencing
in the Philippine context. That is why the need for a wise HR manager is required because the
quality and product of each company or administration can depend on the qualifications of
employees that they hire. Interventions are also solutions to the problem and HR management
should be smart in choosing strategies for implementation. Both strategy and human resource are
like coffee and sugar that must be consistent with each other in order to provide services which
will cater the best interest of an organization.

Today’s society is one of the radical and impulsive changes. Because there is no such
thing as a perfect organization, many corporations are finding ways to improve Human Resource
Management. All organizations require some form of organizational management. However, the
success of an organization is derived from the organizations own individual strengths,
limitations, and submissions and this is where Human Resource management comes into place.
