THE PROBLEM AND ITS SETTING
Introduction
Catalyst recognizes that there are many different ways people may choose to identify
unique needs that people who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, queer, and/or many
additional identities (LGBTIQ+) may have when it comes to receiving support in their
experience, we have expanded our services to provide more culturally sensitive support for
According to the U.S Department of Health and Human Services (1989), 26% of gay and
lesbian youth are forced to leave home because of conflicts over their sexual orientation. In
a study of 194 gay and lesbian youth, 25% were verbally abused by parents, and nearly 10%
dealt with threatened or actual violence. D’Augelli (1997). Approximately 40% of homeless
LGBTIQ+ Lovers should be respected because having into that situation is not easy
because some of them are discriminated by the other people. And also the social acceptance
into LGBTIQ+ Lovers is important to a certain individual for them not to attempt any kind of
situation that might lead them into death like attempting killing there self or attempting

suicide. And also social acceptance makes a certain person to stay strong despite of facing all
This study deals with the people who engaged in this kind of situation because having
into their situation we know that it would never easy and also it will affect in their life when
they are already discriminated. This study will make them to realize that even if there is a
problem involving to this situation but still everyone must respect each of us decision and as
long as individual is also happy we must also happy for them, appreciate and accept what

Definition of Terms
As to make the words concise, we give the definition operationally and conceptually.
Bisexual. Someone who is in all ways attractive to both guys and girls. It is not because they
Lesbian. The definition of lesbian is something related to homosexual women or who feel
LGBTIQ+ Lovers. May refer to a person having a sexual or romantic relationship with
Plights. Means predicament, it comes from the word for pleat, which means fold. A plights is a tough
bind. You’ll usually hear the word plight for groups of people or animals struggling to survive, or
struggling for better lives. We talk about the plight of refugees or the plight of sea birds after an oil
spill. An old-fashion use of plight is for pledge. If you get engaged, you give a plight of your love.
Transgender. Someone who is transgender has a gender identify which does not fully correspond to

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE AND STUDIES
This part of narrative research examines relationships between existing and relevant
Content
In the study of Ryan and Bernard (2003) in India, the ‘LGBTIQ+’ acronym stands for
lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. People in the LGBTIQ+ community are fighting for
equal rights and acceptance. Transgender people, especially, face a lot of difficulty in
finding acceptance. People in the LGBTIQ+ community are looked down upon all the time.
This is a major issue because discrimination against the LGBTIQ+ community is highly
prevalent. People’s prejudices lead them to think that LGBTIQ+ people are odd and very
different.
If someone has to live while hiding integral aspects of them, then one is as good as
dead and nobody talks about the dead people. Many countries have legalised same sex
marriage because they understand the need of having the freedom to love and the freedom
to marry whoever you want. Everyone has the right to marriage since marriage is all about

Every year, a huge number of LGBTIQ+ people face huge issues related to violence,
issues with the way people from the LGBTIQ+ community lead their lives. These people, I
believe, are being immature. There are still many places in India where people are not
aware of what LGBTIQ+ stands for, because they think those who are gay are not allowed to
Cole (2007) in New York City, mentions that there is a higher rate of abuse, neglect,
and discrimination against LGBTIQ+ youths than straights youths. I believe that most
parents would prefer straight students over gay students. The word “faggot” is often used
by anti-gay peers to terrorize LGBTIQ+ youths. Words such as “faggot” or “gay” are
sometimes used in a negative sense to express something either stupid or uncool. (Human
Rights Watch, 2001). Occurs that it shows an even greater sign of discrimination against
LGBTIQ+ youths. I noticed that these words are not only used in the real word but also in
movies and TV shows which makes it harder for LGBTIQ= youths to deal with. In addition
to the discrimination from society and their peers, LGBTIQ+ also endure discrimination
In the above case, the parents was being supportive to her hay son while the school
officials were not Brow man (2001) in Philippines. Like many other schools, they choose to
ignore the fact that the gay students is being bullied and discrimination against. As

mentioned earlier in the paper, that kind of response from school also contributes to the
Synthesis
Some of the related studies have important information about LGBTIQ+ society.
Some of the author said to their study that LGBTIQ+ is not a problem in our society, and
everyone must need to accept what they are, everyone must treat them equally as like a
normal relationship in the eye of others as long as the person is happy what relationship

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This part of the research shows the study will be conduct through the use of
qualitative design, sampling method, data collection procedure, data analysis procedure, and
main traditions of qualitative research will approach and its applicability to different types
of inquiry. Illustrative example from public health and social science fields are provided.
The book details study design, question development, data collection and analysis, and
summarizing and interpreting results, and research process differs according to each
approach.

The study will use purposive sampling and qualified informants through a set of
criteria. The main objective of a purposive sample is to produce a sample that can be logically
The following are the set of criteria that informants is qualified (1) a person who has
a relationship with the same gender and (2) a student in Buenavista National High School
who belongs to the LGBTIQ+ community and (3) 15 years of age and above. In order to
achieve the goal of the study criteria is set to choose qualified informants thereof.
Narrative research involves multiple sources and techniques to gather data from the
informants. In data gathering, we will ask permission from the School Head and the advisers
in Senior High School Department that we will be conducting a study. If the permission will
be approved, we will give informed consent to the target informants for them to be able to
know about the said study and we will be signing in the informed consent especially the
informants.

Informed consent is an ethical and legal requirements for research involving human
participants. It is the process where a participant is informed about all aspects of the trial,
which are important for the participant to make a decision and after studying all aspects of
the trial the participant voluntarily confirms his or her willingness to participate in a
particular clinical trial and significance of the research for advancement of medical
knowledge and social welfare (Nijhawan, Janodia, Muddukrishna, Bhat, Bairy, Udupa, and
Musmade 2013)
To collect data in details, we will interview them personally and we will be using
audio-recording. In that way, all of the answers of the informants will be completely recorded
In analyzing the data, we will transcribe the recorded information from the
informants. After transcribing the information, we will decode the names of the
participants to hide their real personality. Decoding is comprises the skills and knowledge
by which a reader translates printed words into speech; more simply, how a reader
pronounces a word in either silent or oral reading. Then we will be going to separate the

one of the most mysterious. Explicit descriptions of theme discovery are rarely found in
articles and reports, and when they are, they are often relegated to appendices or
footnotes. This is to clearly understand the mean of the informants’ feedback to the
interviewer.
