Keeping it Clean

A recent research shows that there could be 10 million different types of germs and
bacteria taking homage on your desk. Even if it is a small household or full home office
desk, whatever placed in these areas it is sure to attract litter and dust. In order to
manage your office area, you will need to clean every specific part especially the office
equipment that easily catches and stores dust. In office cleaning, cleaning the blind
spots should not be taken for granted. Let us take a look on the possible places where
you can find and abolish those lingering dust and how to clean them.

It seemed like dust is attracted to machines especially computers, monitors, televisions

and printers. As part of office cleaning procedure, the dust on these machines is
undeniably noticeable. In office cleaning, cleanliness says a lot more about a person’s
personality, so cleaning these areas tops our list. Use microfiber cloth or electronics
wipe to clean your monitor. Computer screens and discs are fragile so utilizing them
won’t scratch the surface. Screens have antiglare coatings that gets stripped once you
use glass cleaner so using solvents are not advisable. Don’t forget to turn off the screen
in cleaning. Then, wet the cloth and wipe away filth on the rest of the laptop or monitor.
Do the same with the mouse and printer. Use a clean cloth to wipe CD’s and DVDs
starting from the centre towards the edge, avoid wiping it in circular motion. All visual
and audio equipment collects dust, they must be cleaned from time to time so the dust
doesn’t build-up inside and cause problems with connection. To avoid getting your
cords tangled such as telephone, lamp and adding machine, run the cords behind or
underneath the desk. There are various kinds of clips and guides available to manage
the cables to protect your children and pets from playing with them. Another area in
your office prone to dust is your bookshelves. Clear all books, magazines and
containers and dust them with a duster you can extend, from top to bottom. Include
dusting the bindings of books with a soft, natural-bristle paintbrush before returning
them back on the shelves. Clean the outsides of the storage containers with a cloth or
cleaner. Of course it is an office so we shouldn’t forget cleaning the desk. Clear the
desk from clutter and accessories and dust them, top to bottom, using a damp of
microfiber cloth or damp electrostatic dust-mop. Dust the whole clear space of the desk,
the frame and the legs utilizing a microfiber cloth.

A clean and organised office is very important, it makes your work run smoothly and it
looks more professional. So keep in mind to get rid of any dirt while engaging in office
cleaning.
