Respected Guests & Participants, Ladies and Gentlemen Assalamualaikum and Good
morning.I am Md.Shahriar Hossain and I am Dil Afroza Karim welcome you all on
behalf of the Department of Civil Engineering to the seminar on “Introduction to
Research Methodology ”. It is both an honor and a privilege to stand before you
today and we warmly welcome you to this learned community.
LN: Today we feel honored to have with us Hon’ble Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Md.
Nural Anwar Sir, The Vice Chancellor of Port City international University.
SH: Special Guest and keynote speaker of today’s seminar, the renowned Engineer,
Dr. MD. Reaz Akter Mullick sir, Professor, Department of civil Engineering and
Chairman, Center for River, harbor and landside research. Chittagong University of

sir with floral reception and to do this honor, I would like to request our Honorable
Vice Chancellor of Port City International University Professor Dr. Md. Nural
Anwar Sir.***
LN: Before starting the program, I would like to call Masud Rana Bhuiyan From
CEN 9 Day batch to recite some verses from the Holy Quran.

SH: Now I would like to request Mr Sajedur Rahman Mishuk sir, senior lecturer,
Department of Civil Engineering, to give away the welcome speech.

SH: As we all know, today this seminar is arranged on “Introduction to research
methodology”. Now, I would like to introduce our keynote speaker Professor Dr.
MD. Reaz Akter Mullick sir, Professor, Department of Civil Engineering and
Chairman, Center for River, harbor and landslide research, Chittagong University of
Engineering and technology. Dr. Reaz obtained MSc in Environmental Sanitation
from University of Gent, Belgium. Afterwards, he pursued his PhD in Water
Engineering & Management from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand.
LN: Dr. Reaz has extensive research experiences over Environmental Management,
Sustainable Development, Water Supply and Sanitation, Drinking water treatment and
Supply, Solid Waste Management, and Environmental Flow and so on. Now Without
further ado, let us welcome Dr. MD. Reaz Akter Mullick sir to start today’s seminar
with a huge round of applause.
SH: We have been listening to eminent speaker deliberating in the areas of

Introduction to research methodology”. Thank you Sir for such an informative
seminar. I think such a seminar will help all the participants in their future research.
All these valuable insights gave us a new perspective that one should adopt while
discussing these issues.
LN: I would like to request our Chair of today’s session, Chairman of the Civil
Engineering Department to come forth along with our Honorable Chief Guest,
Respected keynote speaker and other distinguished guests to kindly occupy their
chairs.

LN: Now I would like to request the coordinator of Department of Civil Engineering
Prof. Dr. Shudip Kumar Pal Sir to say something about today’s event.
