GeoFest 2K10

GeoFest 2k10 a national level technical symposium was conducted on 17 th and 18th April, 2010 in the
college campus. During this festival, students from various engineering colleges actively participated.
Earlier TRRANSCENDZ-06 on 26th March 2006 and ELETRRONIX-08 on 19th March 2008 were held in our
college .

The theme of the fest was ‘Environment Awareness’ received the appreciation of World Wildlife Fund
(WWF) who were the technical advisors for the fest. Opening ceremony is graced by Mrs P. Indira
Sampath-Project Director, Forest Department, Govt of AP. She presented a brief insight about
environment situation around the world. She also gave students very valuable tips about environment
protection.

The fest had several technical and non technical events along with many fun filled games and stalls.
Technical events included Paper Presentations, Model Presentation etc while non-technical events
were still photography, bluff master, dumb charades, mock press, mock interview etc. All the events
were a huge success with active participation of students from various colleges. There were also few
indoor games which was a huge attraction for everyone. All the events also had some message for
environment protection. WWF provided with various technical and logistic supports for creating
awareness among students regarding environment protection.

Several film documentaries on environment protection were presented by students. There were very
much appreciated by WWF officials. Food was provided on both the days for all the students and
several food stalls were also displayed.

Closing ceremony was graced by Dr. C. Raghavendra Rao Reader, School of MCIS, University of
Hyderabad. All the awards were given during the closing ceremony. The grand competition of Mr &
Ms GEO was also conducted during the ceremony and winner was selected among the students who
have won different competitions.

Organizing such an event was never an easy task and it would have not been such a success without
the support of Principal Dr S Mahboob Basha. He has provided all the amenities for the fest and kept
encouraging and praising student’s hard work. Also a worthy mention is student coordinator Dr
Mehtab Yasmeen who kept the students on toes all the way till fest was over. She guided the students
towards right path and was always a huge support. The hard work of all the organizers and volunteers
was responsible for the success of Geo fest 2k10.
Technomania
The annual technical fest of AHCET, TECHNOMANIA 2011 was held with great fanfare at the college
premises from 28th February - 1st March 2011. With maximum participation from the student
community, it proved to be a huge success with interesting activities like paper presentations,
technical quiz, debates, robo-wars, project presentation and many more.
SPICEM

On 29th February & 1st March Al Habeeb College felt the aroma of technical and fun events. The technical
events like paper presentation, technical quiz, technical debate, robotic race & wars, circuit designing,
programming with C language and many more were held in a lively manner. The college had the
privilege to invite the eminent personalities like Prof.N.Ashok Kumar, CDI, Formerly Director of National
Academy of Construction for inaugural function and Dr.Syed Azeemuddin, Dept. of E.C.E, IIIT-Hyderabad
for valedictory function. Both the chief guests inspired the students with their speeches. The event was
an appropriate platform for students to come up with their own innovative ideas in their respective
streams. Some students emerged into good organizers, volunteers and some proved their skills in the
entrepreneur area by setting up the food stalls & bookstalls etc...Over 700 people attended the event
and around 100 students from various colleges also participated.
INSPIRETECH
Annual college festival ‘InspireTech, 2k13’ was conducted during 4 th and 5th March, 2013. More than
600 students participated in both technical and fun events. Nearly 100 students from over 20 colleges
from all over Andhra Pradesh attended the grand festival. The highlight of the festival was the
technical model presentations; innovative and modern technology was depicted by the budding
engineers through their models. Thermal Furnace model from Geetanjali college of engineering and
technology received great appreciation from one and all and was selected as the best model. Students
also actively participated in other technical events like paper presentation, debate, quiz, poster
presentation etc. Fun events and food stalls were the most liked items in the festival. Dr. C. G.
Chandra Shekar, Scientist ‘F’, BDL was the chief guest of the opening ceremony and he encouraged the
students to be inspired by and to work like the great scientist and ex-President of India Dr. A.P. J.
Abdul Kalam. Dr. Swarupa Rani, Professor, University of Hyderabad was the chief guest for the
valedictory function. She advised the students to be well organized and well read to become a
through professional. She also distributed the certificates and prizes. Overall the college festival
‘InspireTech, 2K13’ turned out to be the most educative, interesting and entertaining event of the
year where the students got the opportunity to showcase their talents and skills and build
relationships within the student community.
Departmental
Festivals
ACUMECH
Dept. of Mechanical engineering has organized its annual departmental fest named as ‘Acumech’
during 28th and 29th Feb, 2013. Mr. Uday Bhaskar was the coordinator of the event. Mrs. Brahamra,
Professor, JNTUH was the chief guest of the inaugural session. The Chief Guest inaugurated the ROBO
Mission and Project Presentation events, interacted with students and appreciated for the working
models prepared the students. Paper presentations, models, projects, quiz programmes and number
of fun events were conducted during this two day fest. Our college students and other college
students have also participated in this event.
EXPLORICA
The Department of CSE has conducted their departmental fest called ‘Explorica ‘ on 16th October
2012. Students from many colleges have participated in this event but those from Vidya Jyothi
Institute of Engineering and Technology, Mukhaffam Jah College of Engineering and Technology were
prominent. This was the first time, college has conducted such departmental fest and it was decided
to make it an annual event. CSE team of faculty and students worked together to make it a grand
success. Dr. S. M. Basha was the Convener and Mr. Shaik Imam Saheb was the Co-convener while Ms.
Farha Fatima, Asst. Professor and Mr. Paripurna Chandra, Assoc. Professor were the faculty
coordinators. Ms. Syed Osman Quadri and Mohammed Mustafa were the student coordinators for
the event. Different technical events like Technical Debate, Paper Presentations, Briangle (technical
quiz), Dumb C (C Skill) , Mock Interviews, Documentary Presentation, Poster Presentation, Hyper
Think and Link were organized along with number of fun events like Lan Gaming, Hobby Exhibition,
Beg Borrow and Steal, Blind Path, Peck Screwz and Fast Typing. The highlights of the event were the
plethora of activities performed , decoration of the corridor using old CDs and sumptuous lunch
provided by the students. Prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners on the same day.

Competitions
Colours

In the spirit of decade celebration of the college a vivid cultural event called ‘Colours’ was held on 28 th
Jan, 2012. Fun games like lemon spoon race, back race, slow bicycling etc and literature events like
poetry writing, painting, sketching, calligraphy etc along with salad dressing, cooking and lot more
other events were held. Students and faculty enjoyed greatly the memorable event of the college.
REJOICE
A one day long cultural competitions event called ‘Rejoice’ was held specially for the first year on
15th Dec, 2012. All the students cherished the different competitions and participated in large
number. The competitions were performance based, creative and literary and some of them were
story writing, poetry writing, calligraphy, documentary film presentations, salad dressing , cook
without fire, photography, extempore, ad mad shows , mehndi designing etc.

Functions
Annual College Day Function 2010

Annual College Day Function was celebrated on 24 th April, 2010 in college campus at Chevella on grand
scale. The Hon’ble Sri Justice Gulam Mohammed, Judge of High Court, Andhra Pradesh was the Chief Guest
of the Function. Sri. Dasaka Chandra Sekhar, Vice President, Corporate Service, Mahindra Saytam and Mr.
Syed Basharath Ali, Founder CEO, Tameer Consulting Associates, Hyderabad were honoured Guests Special
invitees included Moulana Shah Mohd Fasiuddin Nizami from Jamai e Nizama, Hyderabad and Professor P.
Chandra Sekhar Reddy, Professor, Dept. of ECE, JNTUH, Hyderabad.

Chairman of Al Habeeb Charitable Trust Mr. S. Abdul Kareem and Principal Dr. S. Mahaboob Basha
explained in detail the development measures and the academic activities that have been taken by the
management to impart quality education to the students. It was specifically pointed out that AHCET is at
present the only Muslim Minority Institution in Andhra Pradesh to get Accreditation Status by the National
Board of Accreditation, New Delhi.

Principal highlighted all the qualitative learning and teaching methods in progress and also informed that
the institution has started R & D activities recently. So far 10 papers have been published in various journals
and many more results will start flowing in a couple of years.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Gulam Mohammed began his speech with a verse from the Holy Quran that emphasizes
the importance of learning. Mr. Syed Basharath Ali observed that Allah, the almighty has given time of 24
hours equally to everybody. He added that three things namely Dream, Plan and Action are required to
shape ones destiny. Prof. Dr. P. Chandra Sekhar Reddy emphasized the need to develop employable skills
since that is what the industry expects from the engineers in the making. Moulana Shah Mohd Fasiuddin
Nizami expressed his deep regard for and appreciation of Al Habeeb College, its achievements and its
rigorous efforts to attain professional excellence with human values.

The prize distribution ceremony which followed saw prizes being awarded to students for academics, sports
events and technical events. Faculty and non teaching staff members too were awarded prizes as
recognition of their services and loyalty to the institution.
Annual College Day Function 2011

Annual College Day of Al Habeeb college of Engineering & Technology was celebrated on 27th March
2011 in the college premises. Shri A. K. Khan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad , was the Chief
Guest, Dr. A Govardhan, Principal, JNTUH College of Engineering , Jagtiyal and Dr. C. Raghavendra
Rao , Professor, Department of Computer Sciences , Hyderabad Central University were the Guests of
Honour. Dr. P. Chandrashakhar Reddy, Prof. E.C.E. Dept., J.N.T.U.H was the Special invitee.

The welcome address was delivered by the Chairman of the Al Habeeb Charitable Trust, Sri S. Abdul
Kareem who also explained about the various initiatives taken by the management in the process of
fulfilling its motto to become a ‘centre for excellence’. The Annual report of the various activities
organized by the college during the academic year 2010-2011 was presented by the Principal Dr. S.
Mahaboob Basha. he Chief Guest Sri A. K. Khan in his speech emphasized on the role of the students
in the development of the nation. Giving the example of Michel Angelo who sculpted beautifully from
raw material, he said engineers are also molded by the institution and its faculty from raw material
into admirable achievers. In this context he emphasized the need for values and ethics in achieving
one’s goal. He cautioned the students to avoid the tag of “back logs” and advised them to be
innovative, combining skills with originality and adaptability. He laid emphasis on a clean life and
morals.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. A Goverdhan, while talking about the present job market, expressed the
importance of training the students in employability skills and the need for soft skills for Technocrats.
He drew every body’s attention to the fact that education today has become learning-centric, for both
teachers and students.

Dr. C. Raghavendra Rao appreciated the College for its commendable growth and observed that the
institution was moving in the right path to achieve excellence.

Dr. Chandrasekhar Reddy also spoke about the needs to modernize the labs and upgrade knowledge
keeping in view the requirements of today’s society.

The speeches were followed by the prize distribution to meritorious students who performed well in
academics and other co curricular activities. Faculty and the non teaching staff members were also
awarded prizes in recognition of their services and loyalty to the institution. Lunch was served to
everyone who attended the celebrations.
Thus the Annual day celebrations were a grand success. The students enjoyed the function and they
also spoke high about the institution by narrating their experiences.
Orientation
Programmes

Orientation Programme
Our college has conducted ‘Orientation Programme’ on 22nd September, 2012 to welcome the 11th
batch of students. On this occasion, Dr. Mohd. Ali Rafath, IAS, CEO and VP, APDCCF was invited as
the Chief Guest. The other dignitaries who were present were Dr. Pramod Kumar, Prof, Dept of
Chemical Engineering, JNTUH, Dr.K.V.Sharma, Prof, Dept of Mechanical Engineering, JNTUH, Dr. Syed
Jahangir Prof EFLU. The welcome address was delivered by Shaik Abdul Kareem Saheb, Chairman,
AHCET. A report on the about and progress of the college was presented by Prof. Shaik
Mahboob Basha, Principal, AHCET. A presentation on English Department Activities was given by Ms.
Syed Farhat Jahara Associate Professor of English, and Training and Placement activities was
presented by Dr. Mehtab Yasmeen, Professor, Dept. of S & H. Senior students also shared the college
experience with their juniors.
The Programme was highlighted by the address and insights of the guests of honours. Chief guest Dr.
Mohd. Rafat Ali spoke on the importance of engineering education in the global market. College
prospectus was also released. The programme was concluded by honouring the guests and proposing
vote of thanks to the hounarable guests by Ms. Ethel Jestika, Associate Professor of English, followed
by National Anthem.
Management Fests

Management Festival – FOG 2010

FOG was conducted on 22 rd and 23rd Dec, 2010 by the MBA students to create the zeal and
enthusiasm among the budding managers. Both formal events like group discussion, debates, paper
presentations and business quiz and informal events like dancing, singing, one minute show dumb
charades etc were organized. The fest was grand success.
Management Fest 2011
The students of the MBA department organized 'FOG', a fest on the management theme on 19 th and
20th April,2011 which included many exciting activities and competitions concerned with the
management arena. Dr. Sindhu, Associate Professor and Dr. G. R.V.K. Acharyulu, Reader, HCU were the
Chief Guests. The event was widely appreciated and the winners of the various competitions were a
happy lot.
Alumni Meets
Alumni Meet 2012
Alumni meet called ‘Reminiscences’ was celebrated with great fervor on 31 st March, 2012. Over 100
alumni from different batches attended the event. During the meet alumni interacted with each other
and became nostalgic about the great time they had at the college. Present batch students
entertained their seniors, Mr. Amin CSE II and Mr. Salman Mech I spell magic of melodious songs and
Mr. Adnan Mech I enthralled the audience with his beat boxing talent.
Alumni Meet 2013
Alumni meet named as ‘Rendezvous’ was held on 9th Feb, 2013 nearly 80 alumni attended the
programme and shared their experiences of college and on job with the present students. They gave
valuable and practical advice to their juniors for successful placements. Many alumni who have
attended were well settled abroad in reputed companies and they were on vacations and cannot miss
the opportunity to meet their faculty and to be in their college once again. This time there was special
entertainment package for the alumni presented by their juniors, Mr. Zubair EEE I has presented
wonderful college songs and the team of Petroleum students enacted a comedy play called ‘Kaun
Banega crore pati’ in typical Hyderabadi language.
