    Holiday Homework, Session (2019-20)

    A. “We cannot stop natural disasters but we can aim ourselves with knowledge so many lives would not
    have to be lost if there was enough disaster preparedness”

    1) Prepare a project work on any one of the following topics.

    Natural Disaster​:
    Cyclone, Floods, Earthquakes

    Manmade Disasters:
    Terrorism, War & Genocide, Heat Waves and Changing climatic conditions.

    2) The total length of the project Work should not be more than 15 handwritten pages of A-4 Size.
    3) The project report should be handwritten and Credit will be awarded to illustrations, creative use of
    material, maps and graphical representation.
    4) The project report should be developed and presented in this order.

    And the end of the project each student must mention

    B. Research paper on 17​th​ Lok Sabha election 2019

    The World’s largest democracy would conduct and conclude its 17​th ​Lok Sabha elections by 23​rd​ of May. As
    young citizens of this nation you are required to follow these elections through various mediums e.g.:
    Newspapers, Internet, Television, Magazines. Gathering inputs from various mediums you are expected
    to prepare a research papers, under the following heads:
    a) Importance of elections in a democracy
    b) Elections Commission and its Functions
    c) Stages of elections in India
    i. Fixing of Dates
    ii. Selection of Candidate-eligibility
    iii. Nomination
    iv. Withdrawal of Nomination
    v. Election Campaign
    vi. Polling
    vii. Country and Declaration of results.

    d) Manifestos of Major National Political Parties (Any 3)


    e) Result Analysis: ​participation of women, minority votes, performance of important leaders and
    political parties.and comparative study of various political parties in northern states southern
    states and north eastern states western and central states of India You can use various tools like
    graphs, histograms, pie charts for covering various aspects of Result analysis.
