Since ancient times little by little people have begun to learn about new things, gradually
people have slowly begun to find various forms of technology which have continued to be
developed. The world is increasingly shocked by various kinds of technological discovery in
many forms, be it technology in the form of automotive, technology in the form of electronics,
electrical technology and many other technological technologies that one by one began to be
discovered and continues to grow very rapidly until the current era do not rule out the possibility
that it could be that in the future technology will continue to make the earth's population
surprised by the discovery of new discoveries related to increasingly sophisticated technology.
Talking about technology, of course technology cannot develop without education because
without education, new generations or experts will certainly find it difficult to develop their
mission in creating new and more sophisticated technologies.
Talking about the connection and the impact of technology on education in this secular
era, I think it is very interesting, because in the current era it is clear that technology has a huge
impact on education. Because humans today are on average more like doing instant activities,
because the main impact of technology is to accelerate an activity carried out by humans. so here
I will give and explain some examples of the impact and relation of technology to education in
the era we are feeling right now.
Getting beyond the books is the need of the era. Students can refer the internet to study
the right material from an endless number of sources rather than being dependent on a specific
number of books that might not be of latest edition also. This, in turn, has widened their horizon
to get useful and latest information.
Then the next example is the impact and relation of electrical technology to the world of
education, namely in ancient times if a student wanted to study or read a book at night then he
would be very difficult to read a book because there was no effective lighting tool to support the
learning process when that, but in the current era with the help of electrical technology that is the
presence of electric lights that can light up brightly everyone can learn or read a book at night
very comfortably compared to before, because now electric technology is very rapidly
developing and can be said that technology electrically shaped lights have been felt or enjoyed
by almost all the world community. Not only that this technology can be said to be a life for
other technological technologies, because without electricity, other technologies will not be able
to run or operate optimally. So from that it can be concluded that electrical technology has a big
influence or relation in the world of education.
Traditional education delivery was added and replaced with a digital education model,
the proliferation of information on the Web, the proliferation of teaching system vendors, and the
burden of faculty to design hybrid programs threaten the quality of digital learning. The literature
on the quality of teaching and pedagogy as applied to e-learning and distance education is
growing rapidly when teachers explore a growing range of choices. The lexicon of hybrid
education remains complex, with educators and students working together to solve everything,
arguing about and using existing taxonomies from digital-based educational models. The
dominant concern is how to improve faculty training in redesigning courses and institutional
support to encourage the development of quality contemporary education.
But what is very unfortunate is that along with the progress and rapid development of
technology, of course there are positive and negative impacts of something new. As I have
explained before, technology has many positive effects as I have explained and I gave an
example above, but behind the many positive effects it turns out that technological progress also
has many negative impacts that we often ignore as students, I have given an example of a
positive impact as I explained earlier. So now I will explain and give a negative example of the
impact of technological advances on the world of education. Examples are as follows:
If a student given the task of making a paper about a discussion by the teacher, with the
habit of humans who like to do activities instantly, it does not close the possibility that the
student is very easy to open the internet and just copy and move all files / data from the internet
and then used as a paper, if seen from these activities isn't that an activity that is not good. Where
the student is spoiled with a habit that can be said it is an activity without effort to be more able
to explore and study a learning topic. So in my view, technological advances not only have a
positive impact on users but can also have a very negative impact on someone.
And the next example is technology can attract certain kinds of risks such as cyber crime
about which students might not have much knowledge of. They get trapped even without their
knowledge and it’s difficult to come out of such situations too.
