RUNNING HEAD: DIAGNOSTIC SURVEYS FOR CREATIVE PROBLEM-SOLVING 2
I think I am a fairly creative individual. I am very much sociable. I do not have any issues
pausing to find words or for thinking while I speak. I can speak coherently, fluently and
emphatically. I am a very cooperative person and would like to seek others support in completing
my tasks and I cooperate with others to complete theirs, in the sense I believe in creating
issue that needs to be handled, I try and look at it from different perspectives after having defined
it. I seek several alternatives to a problem, rather than settling for the first and the most obvious
solutions. I believe that every problem, can be approached from different directions and each
approach gives rise to an unique solution. I also believe that each unique solution has its set of
pros and cons attached to it and I would like to weigh each one of them before rushing into
action.
At times, this kind of looking for alternates to one given issue to be challenged makes me
look like I am indecisive. However, that is not the case, it is just that I take a little longer
evaluating the problem from different directions, arriving at different solutions, weighing each

There are several tests that identify how we learn, how we work in a team, what our leadership

styles are and so forth. However, I at one point of time, was not aware that there is a test that
comments on our creativity and it is with that sense of curiosity that I took the test.
The first test – the innovative attitude scale puts me at a score of 74. This puts me in the
second quartile. In the second test of the creative style assessment I have the scored as follows:
Imagine: 28 (puts me in third quartile), Incubate:30 (puts me in the top quartile), Invest: 26 (puts
me in the third quartile) and finally Improve: 24 (puts me in the third quartile again.)
Now what does this make me. Except on the dimension of Improve, I have scored more
than the test means score (N=5000) that makes me stand reasonably above the normal level of
daily life and apply it well to the work situations as well. Again, I spend time working out
alternates, that is apparently where the incubations dimension comes in to play. I am aware that I
do spend time looking and seeking alternates and answers from different dimensions. I do invest
time in evaluating alternates (reflected in the third quartile score) and I finally I am average in
This test is a fair reflection of my own self-awareness on how creative I am. This test is
realistic and reflects my true self. It is an excellent test for evaluating creativity and allows us to
