    We have found that laminate composites consisting of longitudinally magnetized magnetostrictive Terfenol-D and longitudinally poled piezoelectric Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 layers have dramatically enhanced magneto-electric (ME) effects when driven near resonance.     We have found that laminate composites consisting of longitudinally magnetized magnetostrictive


    Terfenol-D and longitudinally poled piezoelectric Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 layers have dramatically enhanced
    magneto-electric (ME) effects when driven near resonance. The maximum induced ME voltage at
    resonance was ~10 Vp/Oe, which is ~102x higher than previous reports at sub-resonant frequencies, see
    Fig.1. Furthermore, we have discovered that this ME laminate shows an extreme high voltage gain effect
    under resonance drive: the induced voltage from this laminate is about 300 times higher than input
    voltage for magnetic excitation, see Fig.2. The resonance ME and ME voltage gain effects may have
    importance for power device applications.
