Same-sex marriage is defined as the union of two individuals of the same sex in a marital relationship with full legal

rights and responsibilities given to this contract in a specific jurisdiction. It is the subject of debate and controversy of
numerous experts as of today.

Until now Same-sex marriage law is not implement in the Philippines, in a reason of cultural beliefs and other beliefs
which affects the perceptions of the people in sense of marriage. Same-sex marriage is not different from a casula
marriage, it is just majority of the people's perception are not agree and criticism in Philippines is existing which is a
huge factor that same-sex marriage law is not accepted.

However, Even if homosexual parents are allowed to adopt or have children, having two parents of the same sex
might not be healthy or what’s best for the children involved. These kids need both a father and a mother image to
have a balance and normal childhood. Gender roles can be hard to play especially if biological and physical aspects
are the issue. If a boy grows up with two women, with the other one playing the role of the father or both plays the role
of mothers, father image will be lacking and the couple cannot answer questions typically asked by boys to fathers,
say, the physical changes in the body. Same goes for girls living with two-male parents.

In a contrary, same-sex marriage mus be legalized in the Philippines to fulfill the rights of LGBTQAP+ and to have
equality in both sides of the Philippine culture.

Marriage, also called matrimony or wedlock, is a socially or ritually recognised union between spouses that
establishes rights and obligations between those spouses, as well as between them and any resulting biological or
adopted children and affinity (in-laws and other family through marriage). The definition of marriage varies around the
world not only between cultures and between religions, but also throughout the history of any given culture and religion,
evolving to both expand and constrict in who and what is encompassed, but typically it is principally an institution in
which interpersonal relationships, usually sexual, are acknowledged or sanctioned. In some cultures, marriage is
recommended or considered to be compulsory before pursuing any sexual activity. When defined broadly, marriage is
considered a cultural universal. A marriage ceremony is known as a wedding. (Wikipedia 2019)

But now in new generation, cultures and religion are now changing because of the change in environment. According
to research, The Philippines is commonly referred to as a melting pot of western and eastern cultures. The traditional
culture of the Philippines is heavily influenced by the traditions of the indigenous Austronesian people. The cultural
landscape also features Spanish, American, Japanese, Arabic, and Indonesian influence. The major religions in the
country are Christianity and Islam which have played a significant role in shaping the culture of the Philippines. The
social beliefs and customs practiced in the Philippines are primarily influenced by religion and demographics of the
region where they are practiced. The traditional customs of the indigenous Filipinos are based on the beliefs of the
Austronesian inhabitants of the Philippines. (WorldAtlas 2019)

In a conclusion, same-sex marriage must be legalized to give the rights in LGBTQAP+ community but at the same
time it must be limited to have equality to people who believes cutural beliefs and to prevent other factors such as,
giving child curiosity about sexual marriage.
