Operating Manual

Warnings

 There are high voltage electrodes inside the heat press. Do not remove the panels from the heat press.

 The heat press will heat up very quickly. Do not place any objects on top or near the heat press.

 The heat press operates at 180 ºC (380 ºF) and above. It is very hot. Please remove objects from around the
heat press.

 Keep away from flammables.

 Heat press operates at a high wattage rating. Make sure it is on a 20-amp circuit with minimal other electrical
equipment on the same electrical circuit.

 Keep away from children. Do not let children near the press when it is hot.

 Unplug heat press when not in use.

 Provide yourself ample work area around the heat press unit. The likelihood of accidents increases in tight
workspaces.

 Do not move the heat press until it is cool to the touch.

 Make sure the electrical circuit is properly grounded before plugging the heat press in. (Never use a 3 prong
adapter)

 Keep away from water or wet environments.

 We recommend turning off the press when not in use to prolong the useful life of the machine.

 Never attempt to bake an empty machine, this may destroy the heat mat or even create a fire.

 Do not adjust the pressure when the hand is locked down and the machine is functioning.

 Please save the packaging box. In case of the need for warranty service, the Styrofoam packaging is specially
molded to prevent damage during shipment.

Operating Instruction

1. Remove the machine out of the carton and place it on a wide and flat working surface. Please take special care
in removing any Styrofoam or packaging material left on the heat press.

2. Flip the switch on the side of the heat press to the ON position.

3. Open the heat press handle.

4. Open the heat press handle. Press set once for “P1” (P1 = “Set Heat” mode). Use the up and down arrow to
set temperature as per the directions of your transfer applications (typically 385 ºF to 395 ºF).

5. Press set once more for “P2” (P2 = “Set Time” mode). Set time as per the directions of your transfer
applications (typically 15 to 20 seconds).

6. Press set once more for “Real Time” mode and allow heat press to heat up to the set temperature.
7. Please ensure that the heat press is OPEN during heat up. (It takes about 15 to 20 minutes for the press to
reach 385 ºF) Never close the heat press platen directly on the silicon pad when the heat press is hot.
This may cause the silicon pad to melt and is a potential fire hazard

8. Prepare T-shirt and your transfer image.

9. Adjust the pressure knob clockwise so you feel a heavy to heavy-high force is needed to snap close the press.
Adjust the stop (the stop bolt that makes contact with the arm when closing the lid. Turn the stop bolt to a point
that when closing the lid, the arm will just barely snap close. (This is the maximum pressure locking setting).
(Tip: Place the press on a table that is lower so when closing the lid the grip is near your stomach. Center you
body weight over the handle. Close the lid with two hands on the grip.)

reference only; your heat press may contain variations in its design.

10. Increase or decrease the pressure knob by turning the knob accordingly. Important: If the stop bolt is too low, it
may be too difficult to open the press. The lower the stop bolt is positioned, the lower the pressure will be.
Remember to adjust the stop so it barely locks and also that it does not pop open too easily.

11. Place the first Non-stick sheet over the rubber pad. (Non-stick sheet or base wrap protector is recommended)

12. Place T-shirt on the Non-stick sheet. Note: Please be careful, as the heating element above the work surface is
extremely hot.

13. When the temperature is stabilized to the desired temperature, close the heat press onto the T-shirt for about 5
seconds. (This will allow the contaminants and moisture to burn off from the T-shirt to yield better adhesion)

14. Open the heat press handle.

16. Place 2nd sheet of Non-stick over the transfer paper.

Note: A word about browning of T-shirts: The cotton fibers will scorch around 350 ºF due to direct contact to
the hot metal surface. One way to alleviate this browning is using a Teflon sheet. To better describe the
mechanism here, imagine an oven heated up to 400º F. You will not get burned when your hand is in the oven
for few seconds. But you will immediately get a blister if you touch the metal surface of the oven.

17. Close the press handle

18. Open the handle when automatic timer buzzes.

19. Remove the t-shirt and peel off the backing immediately for hot peel or wait two minutes for cold peel.

Note: Please consult heat transfer paper instructions for detailed application procedures specific to heat
transfer paper.

20. Turn off the press and unplug the unit when not in use.

21. Do not close the lid until the press is cooled.

 There are no hard rules on heat transfer applications. If using very high pressure, the time and temperature
can be reduced. If set at a lower temperature, then the time and pressure may be increased. Please test
settings to find the settings that work best for your specific application.

 Washing instruction: Wait 24 hours before washing. Turn the t-shirt inside out; use cold water, no bleach,
and light cycle.

 Maintenance: keep all moving parts well lubricated. Check all electrical contacts after ever few hundred
shirts and tighten as necessary. Heat press machines vibrate during every heat press cycle. It is possible
that some electrical contacts may come loose over time.

Changing Between Celsius and Fahrenheit Degree Measure

1. Hold the SET button for 10 seconds until “P3” appears (P3 = Set F/C)
2. Use the UP/DOWN buttons to change between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
3. Hold the SET Button for 10 seconds to get back to real time mode.

Troubleshooting

 The timer/alarm does not turn on – The timer circuit has no relevancy to the heater circuit. The on/off switch
for the timer is controlled by the opening and closing of the handle. You should hear a clicking sound when
closing the handle. If not, the leaf spring on the switch trigger inside the press can be manually adjusted.

 Iron on image does not stick or washes off: Increase temperature and increase pressure. A heat press is
basically a very hot iron with a pressure mechanism. If the paper does not stick, it is mostly likely due to the
quality of the transfer paper. Please use good inkjet ink (Such as Epson Durabrite). If the ink is not of good
quality, the image colors will run during washes.

 If item thickness is over ½” - The base of the heat press can be swiveled to match the top heat platen. When
the item to be pressed is thick (such as wood or tile), loosen the bottom 2 bolts on the aluminum base plate
just a little bit so it swivels. The pressure on the application will be evenly distributed.

 “There is not enough pressure for my heat press application” - Add 1 or 2 layers of towels on the silicon pad.

 “The heat press shuts off after reaching high temperatures.” – Make sure that the press is plugged into the
wall outlet directly and not into a surge protector or extension cord to ensure there is no voltage dropout. The
heat press also needs to be on it’s own electrical circuit.

 “The heat press won’t stop beeping.” – The press has a built in overheat alarm for your safety. The alarm
sounds whenever the press reaches temperatures of over 450 ºF (232 ºC). When the alarm is set off the
machine will beep continuously until the temperature is lowered. If this happens, turn of the press and let it
cool down. Then turn it back on and set the machine to a safe operating temperature.
