The BAUER B-Tronic System

A comprehensive System
Reliable and flexible

The BAUER B-Tronic, which is based on many years of experience and continuous
development, delivers a complete system that goes far beyond the electronic control
of a machine.
With the B-Tronic system you complete your construction activities reliably and
accurately, even under extreme operational conditions.
It enables you to maintain and administer individual machines as well as entire fleets
efficiently. Continuous monitoring and evaluation of your projects and work processes
gives you a definitive competitive advantage.

The high-performance B-Tronic system is based on dozens of sensors. Positioned at

all critical points in the machine, these sensors continuously collect data which are
centrally logged and processed.
A high-resolution touch screen with a range of different display modes informs the
machine operator about the status of his machine and provides details for its optimum
use. Data transmission systems, such as W-LAN, USB or the BAUER specific DTR
communications module, allow machine and production data to be transmitted locally
and globally to any point via the internet.

The B-Tronic display visualizes all relevant machine and production parameters.
You can adapt the optimized, process-specific displays to your own specific
requirements and prevailing working conditions by adjusting the brightness, color
scheme, day/night mode and other settings.

Displays and Operation

Machine Configuration Menu

A precondition for safe operation of the

machine is the correct configuration of the
machine. The machine configuration menu
displays at a glance relevant parameters and
allows the machine operator to adjust the
menu to the current configuration.

Assistance with Control Lever

Assignment

The assignment of the control lever keys,

which can be superimposed on the work
screen at the touch of a button, supports even
an inexperienced driver in the safe operation
of his machine. The plain text displays adapt
dynamically to the machine, process and
operating mode (e. g. setup, operation).

Kelly Drilling

Displays on the work screen customized for

Kelly drilling operations show the relevant
parameters in a clearly arranged layout. Special
features, such as the Kelly visualization or the
torque display matched to the Kelly bar being
used, support the machine operator in the safe
operation of his machine.

Input of Casing Lengths for
Kelly Drilling

With the screen for logging individual casings,

the machine operator keeps track at all times of
the entire drill string. By setting a threshold, he
is informed visually at an early stage of the need
to install another casing section.

Drilling with Continuous

Flight Auger

Optimal control of crowd force and rotational

speed is essential when drilling with continuous
flight auger, in order to prevent blockages in the
auger or the auger getting stuck. With the auto-
matic drilling and extraction control for single-pass
techniques this process is automated. On his work
screen, the machine operator can monitor and
control the progression of the nominal penetration
rate versus the actual rate of penetration.

Input of the Auger Geometry

Based on the geometry of the auger, the B-Tronic

calculates the optimum depth of penetration. Ad-
justments to prevailing soil conditions are possible
by way of a correction factor.

Displays and Operation

Diaphragm Wall Cutter

The display of the current position of diaphragm

wall cutters (rotational direction and inclination)
and the deviations in both x and y direction
enable the machine operator to intervene in the
process by taking corrective action by actuating
the steering plates.

Hydraulic Grab

The working screen of a hydraulic grab also

displays - in addition to the direction of rotation,
inclinations and deviations - the most recently
achieved drilling depth and progress per cycle.

Duty-cycle Crane in controlled

Operation

Depending on the machine configuration and the

current working radius, the B-Tronic of duty-cycle
cranes displays at a glance the current load and
the percentage of the maximum load reached.
When selecting the operating mode LML (load
moment limitation), the B-Tronic prevents opera-
tion in the inadmissible range as soon as 100 %
of the permissible load is reached to safeguard
stability and component strength.

Duty-cycle Crane Application for
Dynamic Compaction

For dynamic compaction (BDC), the densification

progress during each cycle is displayed graphical-
ly. Due to the automatic control of the entire pro-
cess (lifting and freefall of the drop weight) stress
on the machine operator is significantly reduced.

Vibrators for Vibratory Pile

Driving

When using vibrators with an Active Vibrator Man-

agement (AVM) System, the B-Tronic offers different
operating modes to adjust the speed and amplitude
quickly and flexibly to prevailing soil conditions and
the specific type of element to be driven.

Pile Driver for Hammer Operation

During pile driving operations with an accelerated

hydraulic hammer, the working screen shows when
a pile has reached its bearing capacity. Depending
on the bearing capacity limit preset by the operator,
the color changes from orange to green. The pene-
tration related to a fixed number of blows is dis-
played by the height of the prevailing bar.

Assistance systems

The Extra in Comfort,

Safety and Productivity

Assistance systems relieve the machine operator by automating monotonous or

repetitive operations with the B-Tronic system. They help to prevent faulty opera-
tion of the machine and therefore protect both man and machine. Automatic, fast
control processes increase the drilling performance and reduce wear of both the
machine and drilling tools.
Assistance systems thereby ensure a consistently high production quality.

Adaptive Kelly Speed Assistant

The Kelly visualization supports the machine operator

visually by displaying the lock recesses and it enables a
wear-reducing, accurate approach of the lock positions.
With the adaptive Kelly speed assistant the controlled
extension and retraction of Kelly sections is, in addition,
fully automated.

Section of Kelly Bar

The setup menu allows the correct selection or change of

the Kelly bar and the adjustment of various parameters.
This procedure also limits the maximum allowable torque.

Automatic Extraction Control for Single-

Pass Processes
In single-pass processes, such as CFA or CCFA, the automatic
extraction control governs the extraction speed of the auger in
accordance with concrete volume and concrete pressure. When
placing the optimum amount of concrete, a homogenous pile can
be produced. The automatic extraction control is activated by de-
pressing a button on the control lever. Thanks to hands-free oper-
ation, no further intervention by the machine operator is required.

Satellite-based Positioning

With the BAUER Assistant Positioning System B-APS, the

machine operator can utilize the advantages of a satellite-
based navigation system for positioning the drilling rig. The
B-Tronic guides the rig operator simply, quickly and accurately
to the next pile position. Nominal and actual coordinates of
each pile are logged after completion and can be used to verify
that all piles have been drilled with the specified accuracy.
