    EXTRA CREDIT – COMPLETE THE EXERCISES FOR EXTRA CREDIT TO RAISE YOUR GRADE

    ON THE EXAM .

    Present Perfect – Complete the sentences with either present perfect. Ust the correct for of the
    verb.

    Ex. A: How long has she taken karate classes? B: She has taken Karate course since she was a kid.

    Form for questions = Have/has + subject + past participle

    Form for Sentences = Subject + Have/has (not) + Past Pariciple

    1. A: How much ____have _______ you ____played____ (practice) playing guitar this week?
    B. Oh I think I ____have___ ___played____ (play) my guitar about three times.

    2. A. She __has lost ____ (lose) her keys, so she can’t get in her house.

    Simple Past – Complete the sentences in simple past form. Use the correct form of the verbs

    Ex. A: Where did you go last night? B: Last night I went to the carnival to see the Fireworks.

    Form for Questions = Did + subject + verb

    Form for sentences = Subject + verb in past

    2. A: What movie ____did_______ you _____see____ (see) last month?


    B: I _____saw_____ (see) the new Avengers.
    3. A: How often ____did_______ your daughter ____goes______ (go) to the dentist when
    she was a child?
    B: She ______went_______ (go) every 3 to 6 months.

    Used to or would for past – Complete the sentences with used to or would with the correct form
    of the verb. Remember used to is for habits & states, but would is only for habits. Use would for
    habits and used to for states.

    4. When I went to High School , I __would__go__ (go) always go to parties on the weekends.
    5. She ____would ______ (be) a Receptionist, when she lived in Bucaramanga.

    Second or Third Conditional – Write a sentence in the second or third conditional form according
    to the context given.

    Form Second Conditional = If + simple past…, would/could + verb

    Form Third Conditional = If + had + past participle…., would + have + past participle

    6. I am not the president of Colombia, so I can’t lower taxes


    _If I were the president of Colombia, I could low taxes_________.

    7. I didn’t live in another country, so I didn’t learn few cultures.
