POST- OBSERVATION REFLECTION
Component 2: Practical Teaching Observation No. 1

1. LESSON PLANNING:

Lesson plan: My lesson was quite well, nevertheless it lacked some details on
the specific activities to be carried out on each stage. I think I allocated quite well
the time, the instructions, and seating arrangement. One thing that I have to
improve is my freer practice by giving specific roles for the students specially in
speaking.

Aims: It objective which was focused on understanding the present perfect was
achieved well. The aim was to develop the language function (grammar) and as
subsidiary aims reading and speaking.

Structure of the lesson: The lesson was developed with the PPP method. I
needed to be more accurate in lead-in. The presentation needed to be more
specific in the reading activity, controlled and less controlled were quite well
organized, yet in the freer practice I failure a bit due to the lack of an outline.

2. CLASS DELIVERY:

Classroom environment: Ss felt motivated and were open to all the activities I
created a rapport with them because they enjoyed working in pairs and
individually, the core thing is that they participated and learned the lesson

Teaching aids: the aim was goal was devoted to critical thinking. So
brainstormed ideas and self- reflect to salve they also understood the structure
so they could do the activities easily

Teaching procedures: The presentation was acceptable since Ss elicited the

vocabulary to record their connection with the topic. In the practice. Ss read
individually and answered questions and then completed a text yet it would have
worked best to use a semantic organizer for more accuracy

Involvement of students: Ss were motivated to work both in pairs and

individually. CCQing and ICQing worked well to be reinforced their learning and
to be ready to solve the activities. Besides, seating arrangements helped to
manage the class.
Language skills: I quite succeeded in the skills and Ss acquired the skills
reading and speaking,

Checking of learning: MFP was engaging. Ss understood the process they

showed it in the activities, besides they were challenged to take risks and solved
tasks without trouble specially in speaking.

Problems and solutions: I assumed Ss might not get the use of since and for
to solve problems. Indeed, it was a problem for them since it lacked more focus
on this details. It may have been better to analyze it by CCQing or through
elicitation practice.

General lesson evaluation: the lesson was develop in a good way, but it needs
to be improved. First of all, organize the plan better including all the activities and
to have a clear outline of the lesson. My task for the next lesson is to add more
worked and specific details in the stages of the lesson; for example, set out the
context more accurate or give specific roles for Ss..
3. USE OF ENGLISH:
I talked to them with specific language according to their level, with intonations
and pauses to grasp their attention better; besides, I used the formal register,
linguistic and nonlinguistic patterns.
4. ACTION POINTS:
For the next lesson my task to perform as a whole to demonstrate a competent
job that international standards of ICELT requires. I am sure I can give more of
myself.
