Planning to take CTET? Here’s must read!

Candidates across the country are ready to take the CTET this year. The National Council for Teacher
Education (NCTE) along with Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducts the teacher
eligibility test which is the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible to be appointed as a
teacher for classes I to VIII. Find here all the information related to CTET application, eligibility, exam
pattern, examination centres and declaration of CTET result 2018.

The official notification inviting online application for CTET 2018 was released on 1st August 2018. The
last date for submission of online application was 27-08-2018. Click here for guidelines on how to fill

updates regularly.

CTET Exam Pattern

The CTET 2018 exam is Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) type, with four alternatives out of which
one answer being correct. Each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking. Paper is
bilingual (Hindi/English). A choice of 20 languages.

The CTET is conducted as two papers

(i) Paper I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
(ii) Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Schools accepting CTET result score are schools of the Central Government (KVS, NVS, Central Tibetan
Schools, etc.), NCT of Delhi, unaided private schools. All the candidates who qualified Paper 1 and
Paper 2 respectively can appear for interview in the various schools in the list. For a detailed list of

CTET 2018 Admit card

CTET 2018 Admit card released by NCTE in the first week of September. Check status of Admit card
release. Candidates can download their CTET admit card from the official website and take a print-out
to be carried along with a valid ID proof in the examination hall on the day of the exam.

CTET Exam 2018

The CTET 2018 Exam will be conducted by NCTE on 09th December 2018, Sunday. CBSE has released
the schedule and timings of the test. The test will be conducted in 92 cities across 36 States/ Union
territories of India.

How to check your CTET result 2018

The result will be displayed within 6 weeks from the date of conduct of the examination. The result
card for CTET 2018 and UP CTET is expected to be released in February 2019. Candidates can check
their result by logging in to their account by entering their roll number on the CTET website or the
CBSE website. The CTET result displays the Overall test score and subject-wise marks secured.

The candidates who secure 60% in and above CTET 2018 result are declared ‘Qualified’ by CBSE and
will be issued an eligibility certificate.

The Validity Period of CTET qualifying certificate for appointment has been set at seven years from the
date of declaration of its result for all categories by CBSE.

As per CBSE, qualifying the CTET exam would not confer a right on any person for recruitment or
employment in the accepting schools as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.

Re-evaluation/Rechecking of CTET result


CBSE does not entertain rechecking of CTET result. Candidates are advised not to wait for a request
for re-checking, re-evaluation, re-assessment or scrutiny of the computerised OMR Answer Sheets is
entertained as a policy.
