Adjustments are carried out by turning the worm (137) fitted on the frame shaft (109). Loosen both screws
(138), securing the worm, hold same in position pressed against the adjusting ring (139) and turn the
handwheel forward or back. In the former case the lateral movement of the needle will be retarded, in the
latter case it will be advanced. Retighten screws on worm. This adjustment is very important, as
misadjustments will result in distorted ornamental stitches.
The position of the worm and the adjusting ring are reversed in some later models as illustrated in the directions above.
Do not over tighten the belts as it will strain the motor and the bearings.
