CHECK LIST FOR: INSTALLATION OF VARIABLE AIR VOLUMES

1: Check size & capacity of the VAVs as per the approved technical details &
approved drawings. (MAXIMUM CFM Rating & MINIMUM CFM Rating, and also
minimum CFM rating it should be 10% from the maximum CFM rating)

2: Check VAVs proper location, level & elevations as shown on the approved
drawings.

3: Check if the supports are properly fixed and level as per the approved
drawings (VAV boxes should not touch the ceiling directly to prevent vibration).

4: Check for any visible damage to the units which may occur during
the installation.

5: Check if the VAV controller in the VAV terminal if fixed properly.

6: Check the VAV controller accessibility, and VAV Controller enclosure should not
be near wall or Pillar hindering the access.

7: Please ensure all VAVs are installed in the right direction (VAVs should
be installed up-side down), mark in Site drawing and inform to
Commissioning Engineer before Commencement of commissioning.

8: check if VAV controller is installed above the POP Locations, please ensure to
PMC or client to provide the Drop door for accessing the VAV controller.

Check airflow sensor for any blockage or obstruction by the external duct
insulation.

2: don’t hold the Cross flow Sensor for hand supporting, it might break or
damage the whole assembly unit of cross flow sensor.

3: Check if the pitot Tubes connector are positioned properly with Polarity. If any
wrong connection or damage, please correct before installing the VAV.

1: Check the Cable distance between thermostat and VAV box it should be
Maximum 15 Mts.

2: Check the Cable size and type of cable from VAV to thermostat in OEM
manual supplied with thermostat or please contact OEM for further clarification.

3: Install the thermostat as shown in approved drawing.

4: Check & verify if room sensor is installed at the right location to monitor
zone temperature.

5. The cable specification may vary based on the type of Thermostat


(Analog/Networking). For clarifications, contact OEM.

1: Check the Power cable size and no of cores with OEM or specified in Manual
supplied with VAV box.

2: Check and connect the Power cable as shown in the VMA drawing. (Showed
in VAV box door).

3: Check if the VAV is electrically supplied. Wiring connections shall be in the proper
terminals with the correct power requirement.

4: It is recommended that Power zones or specific areas are grouped and


powered as per the Site Drawing, with electrical DB location and Breaker Naming.

1: The VAV communication Cable should be 3core 1.5 Sqmm with shield.

2: Check and verify the no of VAVs per loop, it must be according to respective
BMS Vendor Supervisory controller capability.

1: Check the unit controller. They should have unique address settings.

2: Please ensure the same it should be updated in site drawing and loop
wise.

1: Please ensure all VAVs are properly tagged with respective Thermostat.

2: The Tag should match as per Updated site drawing.

1: VMA shall have additional Universal inputs, can configure external inputs like
Temperature, Co2 sensor.

Note – before utilizing those inputs Please contact OEM for further
technical clarification.

1: Before VMA commissioning please clarify the control logic or contact Project
consultant or Client for further details requirements
