Engine Automatic Start


CAUTION
With the parking brake set to ON, if the aircraft starts to move,
restore braking by pedals.

• Check all indications normal except for N1 & N2 indicators
which remain amber, and all parameters for logical indication.
• Check air pressure.

Ground Clearance.................................................................. OBTAIN


• Announce Start Engine 1(2).

ENG MASTER Switch 1(2) ..............................................................ON


− On ECAM, check: ‚ Start valve in line
‚ Air pressure > 25 psi
‚ N2 increases
‚ Oil pressure increases

Note: Even though the automatic shut down system will operate
in case of an APU fire on ground, all the actions should
always be performed.

• During engine spool down, advise Ground Crew of the
situation, and notify ATC.

APU FIRE Pushbutton ........................................................ RELEASE
• AGENT light illuminates.
• Aural warning cancelled.

Note: Visual warnings remain illuminated as long as fire is


detected.

Note 1: BTL1 & BTL2 lights illuminate only when discharge is


complete.

Note 2: The smoke warnings will remain on as the gases are not
evacuated and the smoke detectors are sensitive to the
extinguishing agent.
