Example
The various data were obtained for rains of various durations at a station X for 31 years. The records were analyze
and 11 worst storms of various durations have been stipulated in their decreasing order as shown in the table
below. Plot the inyensity duration curves of return period of 11, 1.4 and 1.0 year
Solution
We first calculate the frequencies (return period) of the various storms by using the equation T = N/m. Where N
the number of storms shown in Table 1 which is 11.
