The Fascinating Life of Steve Jobs
Steve Jobs was one of the most influential people in recent time. However, his story really
began with his mother, Joanne Schieble. When Joanne was pregnant with Steve, she asked
her father if she could marry Abdulfattah Jandali, Steve’s biological father. However, her
father simply refused to allow her to marry him as he was Syrian. Joanne was forced to
break up with Abdulfattah. A little while later Joanne drove to San Francisco to have her
baby without anyone knowing including Abdulfattah.
Steve was adopted in San Francisco and had an interest in electronics from a young age. He
was born on the 24th of February, 1955 and was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs who were
two young graduate students. They named him Steven Paul Jobs. Before Steve went to
school, Clara taught him how to read and Paul taught him how to work with electronics.
When Steve was 13 years old, he met 18 year old Steve Wozniak who was also into
electronics. The two became friends.
During primary and secondary school, Steve got bored and became a prankster. He was In
2003 Steve Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He has surgery in 2004 to remove
the tumour and then in 2009, he had a liver transplant. Then On the 5th of October 2011
Steve Jobs passed away. The movie Brave was dedicated to Steve Jobs.
frustrated with formal schooling. After Steve graduated from high school, he enrolled at
Reed College. Reed College was an expensive school but luckily Steve’s parents, Paul and
Clara had saved up for that moment. After all, they had promised him that he could go to
Reed College. Steve dropped out after six months, however, he continued to attend creative
classes including a course on calligraphy.
When Steve was 19, he got a Job at Atari as a video game designer. Not long after that, he
went on a trip to India to find “enlightenment” as he was interested in Philosophy. Steve
travelled around India for seven months studying Buddhism. After this long trip, Steve went
back to California and kept working at Atari. Steve was a vegetarian and liked to grow his
own food. He liked going barefoot and rarely wore shoes. This proved to be a problem
when working with Atari and he eventually left the company.
Even towards the end of his life, Steve was still committed to making a change in the world.
He was quoted as saying, “Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool
I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life.” In 2003 Steve Jobs was
diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He had surgery in 2004 to remove the tumour and then
in 2009, he had a liver transplant. Then On the 5th of October 2011 Steve Jobs passed away.
