Resident Profile
News Ken and Linda Erdmann
I’m Ken Erdmann and along with my wife Linda, we’ve
been married for 47 years. We have one son who lives in
Houston and is very successful. My definition of success-
ful is he doesn’t ask me for any money. Seriously, he has
an MBA in IT Management and does well for himself.
We now call Festival home. It’s hard to believe it’s been 8
½ years since we retired and moved to SCF.

We grew up in the metro Detroit area of Michigan and

spent our last 15 years in East Lansing (MSU Spartan
country, GO GREEN!). We both retired in early 2010, me
from Delta Dental where I worked for over 22 years in the
IT world. Linda retired from AT&T where she worked 38
years for the local Bell system as a Customer Advocate.
We’re both pretty active out here, playing a lot of golf as
well as other activities. I tell the story when I was leav-
ing to play golf one day, I asked Linda what she was going
to do. “Clean house” was her response. I came home 5 hours later and found the vacuum cleaner in the
middle of the living room with a post it saying “went to play cards, finish up”.
We’re busy to say the least. Linda is serving her second term as secretary for the Canadian American Friend-
ship Club and I am currently President of the Barrel Buddies Wine Club. I’ve also served as President of the
Men’s Golf Club a couple of times in the past. We’ve got great neighbors and countless good friends. Does it
get any better? We love to travel to see different parts of the country as well as to go to various vineyards in
wine country to taste a little of the grape. We’re big Disney fans having been to both Disneyland and WDW
over 20+ times. We’re always on the go and don’t plan on stopping any time soon. Canadian Rockies next
year.
When we moved out here, Linda used to say, “We’re on a 5 year plan. If we don’t like it, we’re going back”.
She now says, “This is home, we’re not going back”. Festival, you’re stuck with us.
