DEAR MADAM,

APPOINTMENT TO THE POSITION OF HOTEL PUBLIC AREA CLEANER

Reference is made to your recent application for employment and the subsequent
interviews held at our office. We have the pleasure to inform you that the
management has decided to offer you employment as a Hotel Public area cleaner.

1. The effective date of your appointment is 07/09/2010.


2. You will work under the direct control of the House Keeping Supervisor as
per the schedule of duties, including key performance indicators, which will
be communicated to you at the end of your Departmental Induction. You
are required to read and sign it as an acknowledgement of acceptance.
3. You will serve a probationary period of three (3) months before being
confirmed in your position of employment based on satisfactory
performance. During this period, termination of service may be at short
notice of seven days. After confirmation, the employment may be
terminated by either side giving notice of one month or payment
equivalent to one month’s salary in lieu of notice.
4. Your gross monthly salary with be Ninety Thousand Shilling (90.000=) Per
month, which will be subjected to pay As You Earn, based on the current
Income Tax Law of Uganda. However, management may exercise the
option to review it depending on your performance and conduct.
5. This appointment will be for a period of 12 months, inclusive the period of
probation.
6. This contract shall be deemed to be terminated at the incidences of any of
the following;
 Gross misconduct of employee as stipulated in the Human Resource
policy leading to the summary dismissal of the employee.
 Underperformance during your period of probation.
 One month’s notice by one party to other expressly intimating the
desire to terminate the contract or payment of one month’s salary in
lieu of notice.
7. You will be entitled to receive service fee which will be determined by the
Hotel Room occupancies and paid on the 15th day of every month.
8. You will be entitled to 21 consecutive days of annual leave only after one
year of the uninterrupted service: sick and compassionate leave shall be
treated on as-it-comes basis.
9. You will be facilitated to meet your targets in any possible way within the
means of the company.
10.All assets and property that shall be handed to or accruing from the
employee for and in the proper performance of these duties under the
terms of this contract shall remain the property of the employee at all
times and this shall apply to materials, equipments and intellectual
property rights unless the parties hereto agree otherwise.
11.A Hotel being a twenty four (24) hour service requires seven day week
operation. You will thus according to the schedules and duty roster as will
be provided by your immediate supervisor.
12.In accepting this offer, please sign and return the acknowledgment
statement appended below. An extra copy of this letter is enclosed for this
purpose. You should also send two passport size photos, a letter of
introduction from the local council 1 of the area in your residence, sealed
reference letters from people of sound stature and the signed copy of this
letter.
