MoyaProof CWP
CEMENTITIOUS SLURRY WATERPROOFING SYSTEM BY
CRYSTALLIZATION
DESCRIPTION MoyaProof CWP is a dry powder based on special reacting and penetrating
chemicals which will react with cement matrix to form an inorganic complex
ions. It is a unique chemical treatment for concrete corrosion protection and
waterproofing by crystallization. MoyaProof CWP penetrates in concrete by
the process of osmosis, because the chemicals in MoyaProof CWP have an
affinity with water. The crystalline formation migrates throughout the pores
and capillary tracts of concrete sealing the concrete against intrusion of
water, chemicals, sewage and other harmful chemicals. The active chemicals
penetrate the concrete and react with free lime and moisture to form a
subsurface membrane effectively sealing the voids and cavities present in
concrete.

STANDARDS ASTM E514, ISAT BS : 1881 Part 5 1970, BS: 6920

USES MoyaProof CWP being environment friendly, can be used for various
applications like concrete structures including marine and coastal structures,
rafts, precast panels, water storage tanks, highways, runways, roofs, decks,
bridges, cut & cover tunnels, silos, car parks, swimming pools, pipes, etc.
Since MoyaProof CWP penetrates into the concrete, it won’t get scratch,
peel or damage. It can replace the old tedious and hazardous method of
preformed SBS waterproofing membrane system for basement.

ADVANTAGES • Can be applied to freshly laid green concrete by dry shake method
• Non toxic
• Time saving, fast tracks projects
• Becomes an integral part of concrete
• Chemicals remain dormant and can reactivate whenever there is a presence
of water
• Does not require costly surface priming or leveling prior to application as for
other coatings
• Can be recoated with other coatings
• Less costly to apply than other systems
• Does not require protection from backfill
• Extensively used for concrete repair work and is particularly useful to apply
on the negative side of water retaining or underground structures both above
and below grade.

SURFACE PREPARATION Concrete surfaces to be treated must be clean and free of laitance, dirt, films,
paint, coatings or other foreign matter. The surfaces must also have an open
capillary system for the MoyaProof CWP treatment. If surfaces are too smooth
the concrete should be acid etched, lightly sandblasted or waterblasted.

Structural defects such as cracks, faulty construction joints and honeycombing
should be routed out to sound concrete and repaired in accordance with
Conmix specifications. MoyaProof CWP is not designed for use in expansion
joints or chronic “moving” cracks. Horizontal surfaces should preferably have
a rough wood float or broom finish.

MIXING Mix one bag of 25 kg with 13-14 litres of clean water. Do not make loose
consistency otherwise the mix may crack & spall when drying. Always add
powder to water, mix until smooth and lump free consistency. Do not rework
stiff material by adding more water. Mix sufficient material to use within 30
minutes.

APPLICATION SLURRY COAT : Apply MoyaProof CWP with a stiff fiber brush. Scrub well into the
damp surface, filling all pores and finish with final strokes in one direction. After
the first coat has set but while it is still green, apply a second coat. If this is not
possible, pre-wet first coat before application of the second coat. Application is
recommended on two to four weeks old concrete. It will be more effective with old
concrete.
DRY SHAKE METHOD : For Newly Poured Concrete: Use MoyaProof CWP
directly from the bags. Distribute the powder evenly over freshly poured concrete
2
at 4 - 5 kg/m before the final trowelling work. It is recommended to distribute
approximately 50% of the powder in one direction with the remaining 50% at
right angles to the first application. Release the powder as close to the wet
surface of concrete as possible. A roughened finish is recommended on the
first coat to ensure adequate adhesion of the second. Finally trowel the concrete
to the required finish.
LEAKING CRACKS: MoyaProof CWP can be mixed to dry mortar consistency
and used to fill the cracks. If there is any active water leakage then MoyaProof
CWP can be mixed with MoyaProof Plug in the ratio 1:1 and fixed at the point
of water leakage, to stop the flow of water. Over such tretment, two coats of
MoyaProof CWP can be applied at the said rate of application.

OVERCOATING MoyaProof CWP treated surfaces to receive epoxy coating or to be painted

must be neutralized by using buffer solution. Or after a minimum period of 21
days of application of MoyaProof CWP, it can be hacked and chipped out by
using hammer and chisel. Any type of coating can be applied on such surface.

CURING Applied MoyaProof CWP should be protected against moisture evaporation

by sun & wind. Careful fog/mist spraying of water should be undertaken to
keep the surface damp. Alternatively the surface can be covered with plastic
sheets, wet hessian or moist sand. Curing compounds are not recommended.
Moisture cure MoyaProof CWP treated surfaces 3-4 times per day for a period
of 12 - 15 days. Backfill material can be placed on MoyaProof CWP applications
after moisture curing has been completed. No protection boards are required.
