Maklumat Am
Fakulti Pengajian Pendidikan (FPP) ditubuhkan pada 15 Januari 1975. Pada awal penubuhannya,
FPP dikenali sebagai Fakulti Perkhidmatan Pendidikan selaras dengan fungsi utama Fakulti pada
ketika itu. FPP menawarkan kursus-kursus kepada pelajar yang mengikuti program pengajian
Diploma Sains Dengan Pendidikan dan Bacelor Sains Dengan Pendidikan (Kepujian) yang ditawarkan
oleh Fakulti Sains. Selain itu, FPP menawarkan kursus-kursus elektif dan umum yang diambil oleh
pelajar daripada pelbagai fakulti di Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (UPM) ketika itu.
FPP bermula dengan tiga jabatan, iaitu Jabatan Pendidikan, Jabatan Sains Kemasyarakatan dan
Jabatan Bahasa. Pada 1989, FPP mengalami perubahan struktur apabila dua daripada tiga jabatan
tersebut, iaitu Jabatan Sains Kemasyarakatan dan Jabatan Bahasa membentuk fakulti baharu.
Jabatan Sains Kemasyarakatan bergabung dengan Jabatan Pembangunan Manusia, Fakulti
Pertanian untuk menjadi Fakulti Ekologi Manusia. Sementara Jabatan Bahasa bergabung dengan
Jabatan Komunikasi, Pusat Pengembangan dan Pendidikan Lanjutan untuk menjadi Fakulti Bahasa
Moden Dan Komunikasi.
Pada 1996, berikutan dengan penyertaan Jabatan Pendidikan Pengembangan, FPP mempunyai dua
jabatan, iaitu Jabatan Pendidikan dan Jabatan Pendidikan Pengembangan. Pada 1997 Jabatan
Pendidikan Pengembangan telah ditukar nama kepada Jabatan Pemajuan Profesional dan
Pendidikan Lanjutan.
Pada 2002, FPP sekali lagi mengalami perubahan struktur. Empat jabatan baharu ditubuhkan sebagai
rombakan semula Jabatan Pendidikan. Jabatan baharu yang ditubuhkan ialah Jabatan Asas
Pendidikan, Jabatan Pendidikan Bahasa dan Kemanusiaan, Jabatan Pengajian Perlakuan dan
Pergerakan Manusia dan Jabatan Pendidikan Sains dan Teknikal. Jabatan Pemajuan Profesional dan
Pendidikan Lanjutan kekal seperti sedia ada. Pada 2004, perubahan struktur iaitu di mana Jabatan
Pengajian Perlakuan dan Pergerakan Manusia telah dirombak menjadi dua jabatan, iaitu Jabatan
Pendidikan Kaunselor dan Psikologi Kaunseling dan Jabatan Pengajian Sukan.
General Information
The Faculty of Educational Studies (FES) was established on January 15th, 1975. At the time of its
inception the Faculty was named the Faculty of Education, in line with its primary functions at the time.
The Faculty offered courses for students pursuing the Diploma in Science with Education and
Bachelor of Science with Education (Hons) programs, which were offered by the Faculty of Science.
The Faculty also offered general and elective courses to students from various other faculties at the
University of Agriculture, Malaysia (UPM) at the time.
At the early stages the Faculty consisted of three departments, comprising the Education Department,
Social Sciences Department and the Language Department. In 1989, the Faculty underwent structural
changes with two of its three departments, namely the Social Sciences Department and the Language
Department, evolving to form two separate new faculties. The Social Sciences Department merged
with the Department of Human Development from the Faculty of Agriculture to form the Faculty of
Human Ecology while the Language Department merged with the Communication Department from
the Center for Extension and Continuing Education to form the Faculty of Modern Languages and
Communication.
In 1996, the Faculty expanded to two departments with the inclusion of the Department of Extension
Education in addition to the original Department of Education. In 1997 the Department of Extension
Education was renamed the Department of Professional Development and Continuing Education.
In 2002, FES underwent yet another structural reorganisation whereby four new departments were
established. The four new departments comprised the Department of Foundations of Education,
Department of Language and Humanities Education, Department of Human Movement and
Behavioural Studies and Department of Science and Technical Education. The Department of
Professional Development and Continuing Education remained unchanged. In 2004, another structural

change resulted in the Department of Human Movement and Behavioural Studies being split into two
departments, the Department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology and the
Department of Sports Studies.

Note:
Students must follow the prescribed scheme of study based on their MUET results (or equivalent) every
semester.
• MUET Band 5 and 6 students can choose to enrol in either one or two BBI courses.
If they choose to do one BBI course, they must also enrol in one global language.
• Students who are away on Industrial Training in any semester do have not to enrol in any
course or LAX activity for that particular semester. However, they must enrol in a course or LAX activity in
the prior or subsequent semester (subject to course pre-requisites).

Note: If students fail in a BBI course, they must repeat and pass the course before they can enrol in a
subsequent BBI course.
Note: If students obtain LEVEL 1, they must repeat and pass the course (LEVEL 2 and above).
III. LAX
Note: If students obtain TM (Tidak Memuaskan/Unsatisfactory), they must enrol in the same or different
LAX activity to replace the failed points. Students must ensure that they fulfil the required number of LAX
points for graduation.
