1. Purpose : To define proper safety measure that has to be taken while working at height to
protect the workers and concerned persons from free fall and falling object
hazard.
3. Responsibility :
3.1 The Site Supervisor ensure to inform all affected site and community personnel of the
planned test.
3.2 The Site Supervisor /EHS personnel provide for and require that equipment and materials
are arranged to give unobstructed access/egressduring testing and in the event of an
emergency.
3.3 The Site Supervisor need to provide for and require the use of reliable Communication
system in the event of the pressure test.
3.4 The Project Engineer need to Suspend a test when the testing personnel (includingbut not
limited to: contractor,contractor’s agents) or equipment are not working in a safe manner.
4.1 Identify the maximum test pressure to be used, as determined by the Project
Engineer.
4.2 Make Sure the pressure rating for all connected fittings and devices to are rated for
the maximum test pressure.
4.3 Verify that all supply lines and hose connections are secure with retaining devices
before and during the test.
4.4 Visually inspect and ensure soundness and proper installation and valve positioning of
all equipment used.
4.5 Use proper barricade and warning signs that is easily visible and notify by other
contractors and workers.
5. Operation
5.1 Notify station personnel of area to be avoided due to potential risks during pressure
testing.
5.2 Mark off the area as a dangerous site, and ensure only individuals associated with the
testing activities are in the area.
5.3 Secure a blind flange or cap suitable for the system’s rated pressure on all openings that are
not closed off by valves.
5.4 Keep unauthorized personnel out of the test area and do not work over or near where pressure
testing is being conducted.
5.5 Never tighten connections that are under pressure. If a leak develops you must depressurize to
a safe level and then re-tighten.

5.6 Wear the PPE as appropriate for the task being performed.
6. Non-compliance
6.1 In the event of any non-compliance Supervisor/Safety Personnel shall inform the Project
Manager. The Project Manager shall take necessary steps( i.e. impose admin/ warning letter to
the responsible parties to prevent reoccurrence.
6.2 Supervisor/Safety Personnel shall monitor the performance after rectification work has been
done.
