Q1 : A manufacturing unit A makes 15 colour television sets and 80 black white


television sets in a month. Another unit B makes 40 colour T.V. sets and 100
black and white T.V. sets in a month . Represent this information into matrix
form and find the production of each unit in 7 months.

received from selling all the books? Solve the problem by method of matrix .

in Rs. 6, object B in Rs. 10 and C in Rs. 20 from shop Q. He can purchase object A
in Rs. 5, object B in Rs. 15 and C in Rs. 23 from shop R. He can purchase object A
in Rs. 12, object B in Rs. 10 and C in Rs. 18 from shop S.The student has to
purchase 1 object A , 2 object B and 1 object C. From where should he purchase all
three objects so that it costs him the least ?

Q19: A manufacturer produces three products A,B,C which are sold in Delhi and
Mumbai .The annual sales if the products are given below. If the sales prices of the
products A,B,C per unit is Rs. 2 , 3 and 4 respectively,calculate total revenue at
each place by using matrix :

Q20: In a certain city there are 25 colleges and 100 schools . Each school and college has
5 peons,2 clerk 1 cashier.Each college has in addition 1 accountant and 1 head
clerk. The monthly salary of each of them is as follows :
Peon : Rs 300, Clerk : Rs. 500, Cashier : Rs. 600, Accountant : Rs. 700 and
Head Clerk : Rs. 800 .Using matrix notation, find :
(i)The total no. of posts of each kind in schools and colleges taken together,
(ii)The total monthly salary bill of each school and college separately and
(iii)The total monthly salary bill of each school and college together .
