Model: Solar System model for display, Laptop, Projector and screen, coloured paper, coloured pens, tape, scissors
and worksheets.
PROCEDURE
Opening to Lesson
Before we begin our lesson today, can anyone tell me Our last topic of discussion was ‘Planet Earth’
what we discussed in our previous class?
Very good. Now, today I’m going to show you a picture. It is a Solar system.
Can anyone tell me what it is?
After seeing the video, can anyone tell me how many Eight planets make up the solar system

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus
Very nice. What are the names of the planets? and Neptune (in random sequence)
Does anyone know how many days are there in a year? There are 365 days in a year.

Evaluation:
On the basis of their worksheets and group activity the teacher will be able to assess the students.
For homework, the students can write 5 facts about their favourite planets to be discussed in the
following class.

Topic: Gratitude
The students have been asked to use a notebook to make a Gratitude Journal.
Students practice gratitude journaling every day after lunch.
Learning Objectives
The students learn to be thankful for something good they did that day or someone did a good deed
for them.
They learn to appreciate the good things in life.
They learn to respect and value other people’s efforts.
Procedure
Give students 3 minutes to think of something they are thankful for that day.
Cues that can be given to students
A person you are thankful for in life
Someone who did something nice for you
A thing that helps them with work every day (pencil, notebook, school bag)
The students can write their gratitude notes in their notebook (2minutes)
Remaining 5 minutes
Randomly 5-7 gratitude notes will be read out in class to discuss the positive values learnt from them.

The students learn about compassion, thankfulness.
It makes for a happy and healthy mind set.
Students learn the power of positive actions.
It enables the students to honour the presence of people and things in their lives.
