3) Find the area to be painted in the following block with a cylindrical hole.
Given that length is 15cm, width is 12cm, height is 20cm and diameter of
hole is 5.6cm? If to paint 100 𝑐𝑚2 area it cost 10 Rupees then calculate 12cm
the amount to paint the whole solid? Also find the volume of solid? 20cm

C.LINEAR EQUATION IN ONE VARIABLE

7) The three angles in a triangle are in the ratio of 2:3:4. Find the measure of each angle.
8) I have a total of Rs300 in coins of denomination Rs1, Rs2 and Rs5. The number of Rs2
coins is 3 times the number of Rs5 coins. The total number of coins is 160. How many coins
of each denomination are with me?
9) John’s father is 5 times older than John and John is twice as old as his sister Alice. In two
years’ time, the sum of their ages will be 58. How old is John now?
10) Mary is three times as old as her son. In 12 years, Mary's age will be one year less than
twice her son's age. How old is each now?
D.COMPAIRING QUANTITIES
11) A shopkeeper marks the price of an article as Rs 1000. The customer gets a discount of
20% on this price. Find the price at which the shopkeeper bought the article if he makes a
profit of 10% by selling the article at the discounted price.

12) The population of a city was 20,000 in a particular year. The population increases by 5%
every year. Find the population after 3 years.

13) The simple interest on a principal amount of Rs.3000 is 4% per 6 months. Find the
amount after 42 months.

14) If Dhruv buys a hair dryer for Rs 5,400 including 8% VAT. Find the price before VAT was
added.
15) Meenu bought 2 fans for Rs 1200 each. She sold one at a loss of 5% and the other at a
profit of 10%. Find the selling price of each fan and the total profit or loss.
