Pipework
Must complete four units from the following:
Unit 39: Bending and Forming Marine Pipe using Hand Methods
Unit 40: Bending and Forming Marine Pipe using Bending Machines
Unit 41: Assembling Ferrous Marine Pipework by Mechanical Means
Unit 42: Assembling Non-Ferrous Marine Pipework
Unit 43: Assembling Non-Metallic Marine Pipework
Structural Steelwork
Must complete the following units:
Unit 49: Marking Off Marine Structural Steelwork Components
Unit 50: Assembling Fabricated Components to Produce Marine Sub-Assemblies
Mechanical Maintenance
Woodwork/Outfitting
Must complete one of the following units:
Unit 133: Marking Out for the Manufacture and Assembly of Marine Wooden Components
Unit 134: Marking Out for the Installation of Marine Wooden Assemblies
Plus three more units from the following:
Unit 135: Producing Marine Wooden Components using Hand Tools
Unit 136: Producing Marine Wooden Components using Machines
Unit 137: Assembling Marine Wooden Components
Unit 138: Installing Marine Wooden Components
Unit 139: Finishing Marine Wooden Assemblies by Applying Surface Treatments
Interior Finishing
Must complete all of the following units:
Unit 140: Producing Marine Soft Furnishings
Unit 141: Installing Marine Interior Panels and Soft Furnishings
Unit 142: Installing Marine Seating and Furniture
Composites
Must complete one of the following units:
Unit 143: Producing Marine Composite Components using Wet Lay-Up Techniques
Unit 144: Producing Marine Composite Components using Pre-Preg Laminating Techniques
Unit 145: Producing Marine Components by Acrylic Moulding
Unit 146: Producing Marine Composite Assemblies
Plus two more different units from the following:
Unit 143: Producing Marine Composite Components using Wet Lay-Up Techniques
Unit 144: Producing Marine Composite Components using Pre-Preg Techniques
Unit 145: Producing Marine Components by Acrylic Moulding
Unit 146: Producing Marine Composite Assemblies
Unit 147: Trimming Marine Composite Mouldings
Sheet Metalwork
Must complete all of the following units:
Unit 152: Marking Out for Fabrication and Assembly of Marine Sheet Metalwork
Unit 153: Cutting Sheet Metal to Shape using Hand and Machine Tools
Unit 154: Forming Marine Sheet Metal Components using Hand and Machine Tools
Unit 155: Producing Marine Sheet Metal Assemblies
Unit 156: Installing Marine Sheet Metal Components and Assemblies
Marine Welding
Must EITHER complete two of the following manual welding units:
Unit 162: Welding Marine Materials and Structures using the Manual Metal Arc Process
Unit 163: Welding Marine Materials and Structures using Manual MIG/MAG and other
Continuous Wire Processes
Unit 164: Welding Marine Materials and Structures using Manual TIG and Plasma Arc
Welding Processes
Unit 165: Welding Marine Materials and Structures using the Manual Gas Welding Process
Unit 166: Welding Marine Pipe/Tube using Multiple Manual Arc Welding Processes
Unit 167: Welding Marine Plate and Structures using Multiple Manual Arc Welding
Processes
Unit 168: Joining Marine Materials by Manual Torch Brazing and Soldering
OR one of the above manual welding units PLUS any of the following pairs of mechanised
welding units:
Unit 171: Preparing Resistance Spot, Seam and Projection Welding Machines for Production
Unit 172: Welding Materials using Resistance Spot, Seam and Projection Welding Machines
Rigging
Must complete the following units:
Unit 192: Preparing Loads for Moving
Unit 25: Slinging, Lifting and Moving Materials, Machinery and Components in a Marine Environment
