E- Commerce is anything that involves an online transaction.Internet users and web services have
changed E- Business globally.This paper gives an overview of E-Commerce in India and discusses its
present scenario as well as the future ofIndias E-Commerce. Also find out various factors that would
essential for future growth of Indian E-commerce. And also analyze various opportunities in E-
Commerce for retailers, wholesalers, distributors, producers and for people. Along with its trends,
pros and cons will be discussed. In this paper we found that the Overall E-Commerce will increase
exponentially in coming years in the emerging market of India.

Introduction
The cutting edge for business today is e-commerce. E-Commerce stands for electronic
commerce. E-commerce is the use of electronic communications and digital information
processing technology in business transactions to create, transform, and redefine relationships
for value creation between or among organizations, and between organizations and
individuals. It is also known as Electronic Commerce and E- Business. On the internet,
it relates to a website of the vendor, who sells products or services directly to the customer
from the portal using a digital shopping cart or digital shopping basket system and allows
payment through credit card, debit card or EFT (Electronic fund transfer) payments.
E-commerce or E-business involves carrying on a business with the help of the internet and
by using the information technology like Electronic Data Interchange (EDI). More simply
put, E-Commerce is the movement of business onto the World Wide Web. Internet and web
services have changed the business scene in India. Ecommerce is showing tremendous
business growth in our country. Increasing internet users have added to its growth.
Ecommerce has helped online travel industry in many ways and added a new sales avenue
through online retail industry in our country.
E-commerce can be traced back to the first electronic computers, which were built in the
1950s. However, e-commerce did not gain extensive popularity until development of the
World Wide Web in the 1990s.
