ORAL PRESENTATION 1st TERM

A Celebration
You are going to prepare an oral
presentation about an unforgettable
celebration.

There are three tasks to be done:

1. The written part (a text telling the reader about your celebration).
2. The oral part (remember you cannot read, so rehearse at home and come to class
and speak as naturally as possible).
3. The slide presentation (it can be a powerpoint file or any other visual support)

Aspects to include in your oral presentation:

What your celebration was, when, who and why you celebrated.
Where you celebrated.
Who organised the celebration and what it involved (who did what?).
Sequence the activities in the celebration.
How the celebration ended
Why it was an unforgettable experience
What you liked most about it.

Language Tip: You are talking/writing about a personal experience in the

past, so remember to use the Past Simple and the Past Continuous.

When showing photos of people doing something, remember to use the Past Continuous.

Timing Tip: Your oral presentation will last 5 minutes. Remember to

rehearse at home in front of friends/classmates. Remember that at the end of
your presentation there will be some extra time in case the audience wants to
ask any questions.

Aspects to include in your slide presentation:

Include lots of photos of people and you celebrating.

You can also bring any personal objects associated with the celebration and
show them to the rest of your classmates.
