1. GENERAL
1.1 Purpose
Purpose of this document is to ensure the mechanical integrity of rotating equipment prior
to initial start-up and normal operation by providing the detail sequence and procedure
for Run-In test of the rotating machines mentioned below.
3) To check that control and safety devices associated with the Coke Crusher (2600-ME-
004-VH4) and Lubrication Pumps (2600-ME-004-VH4-G1/2) are functioning correctly.
Petroleum coke is cut from the coke drums and after a period of time, coke is
moved to the pit area by the Coke Handling Bridge Crane, Buckets (2600-VH-001).
After the drum is cut, coke is reclaimed by the Bridge Crane, Bucket to the Coke Grizzly
Hopper (2600-VH-002) and Coke crusher (2600-ME-004-VH4). The Coke Grizzly
Hopper opening is equipped with grizzly bars to limit the coke size. The main purpose of
this Toothed Double Roll Crusher (2600-ME-004-VH4) is to crush and reduce the size
of green coke to required size. Lubrication Pumps (2600-ME-004-VH4-G1/2) provides
lubrication grease for Coke crusher (2600-ME-004-VH4).

4. SAFETY
4.1 General Guideline
The following precautions must be taken before the run-in test is executed.
1) All personnel involved in carrying out this Run-in test procedure are appropriately
trained and competent in the Project Permit to Work system.
3) All personnel involved in this Run-in test are competent for the tasks they will be
required to undertake.
5) Any temporary equipment required for safe run-in test must be compatible with
regards to materials, pressure/temperature rating, etc.
6) Ensure that work area is clean, tidy and access/escape ways are satisfactory.
7) Prior to carrying out this test, the area covered by this test is barrier-taped off, signs
are posted and access is to be restricted to essential personnel only.
8) Ensure that switch off the power supply on motor control panel prior to commencing
the test.
10) Before starting work on any of the activities in this Run-in test, it is the responsibility of
the persons performing the work to;
b) Read this Run-in test procedure, understand each requirements and the need to
carry out the tasks listed in the order detailed.
