(1) Address the urgent need to relocate the inmates to a facility with sufficient capacity, higher
security standards and provisions for rehabilitation programs.
(2) Comply with the provisions of Republic Act No. 10575 (the BuCor Act of 2013) which
provide for the modernization program of BuCor; and:
(3) Serve as pilot project for the regionalization of penal facilities across various regions in the
Philippines.(1)
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE GROWTH OF KNOWLEDGE IN ARCHITECTURE:
Restorative justice is an architectural approach to the current criminal justice system of the
America, it was a campaign by Deanne VanBuren, it focuses on offenders rehabilitating back into
community through the essence of reconciliation and understanding. (2) If appropriate. It is one of the first
methodological approaches for working with incarcerated populations to re-envision, re-appropriate, and
re-create the spaces of justice using the values and principles of restorative justice. Architecture and
restorative justice dont immediately seem relateduntil you consider that our current penal system
exists within a very specific type of architecture: high-security jails and courthouses. An alternative
system, of course, would have its own reinforcing architecture. - Meg Miller associate editor at

TITLE PROPOSAL
The project involves the financing, design, rehabilitation, expansion (if necessary), operations and
maintenance of all existing terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) covering both
landside and airside (except air traffic services), to meet the International Civil Aviation Organization
(ICAO) standards and develop the main gateway airport of the Philippines, the project aims to:
(1) upgrade NAIA to be compliant with relevant international standards;
(2) maximize overall airport capacity to accommodate increased passenger traffic;
(3) modernize its infrastructure to leverage efficiencies and enhance operational capabilities;
(4) provide an optimum level of service to passengers, airlines and other airport users; and
(5) improve its commercial offerings, with modern, aesthetically pleasing and functional facilities. (1)
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE GROWTH OF KNOWLEDGE IN ARCHITECTURE:
Several biomimetic design strategies are available for various applications, though the research
on biomimetics as a design tool in architecture is still challenging. This is due to a lack of systematic
design tools required for identifying relevant organisms, or natural systems, and abstracting the
corresponding generic principles for implementation in design concept generations for building envelopes
this could leave to further research and less dependent on to conventional techniques which in a way
harms the environment.(2)
