The annual National Schools Maintenance Week Program dubbed as Brigada Eskwela by the Department of
Education for the School Year 2017-2018 was held and implemented nationwide from May 15-20, 2017 with the theme
Isang DepEd, Isang Pamayanan, Isang Bayanihan Para sa Handa at Ligtas na Paaralan based on DepEd
Memorandum No. 43, series of 2017. Following this program is the observance of Oplan Balik Eskwela that will start
on the 29th of May until 16th of June 2017.
Brigada Eskwela 2017 aims to ensuring public school facilities secured, orderly and prepared in the forthcoming opening
or start of the classes on June 5, 2017 by way of engaging all education stakeholders to voluntarily contribute their time,
effort and resources.
As the General Mamerto Natividad National High Schools participation and implementation of Brigada Eskwela 2017 various
committees was formed and were assigned to each departments with specific line of work, duties, responsibilities and
schedules.
The Araling Panlipunan Department with members: Edwin L. Gonzales, Yazer V. Diaz, and Odessa V. Illustre headed by
our chairman Mr. Fernando S. Cariaga were assigned at Day 6 of Brigada Eskwela that was in May 20, 2017. Our
department was partnered with the participating volunteer group from the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines)
headed by ____________________________________________________________________. And as result of
partnership, the following has been accomplished:
repainted
repaired minor classroom damages
cleared the corridors and pathways from any obstructions or objects that may cause harm or danger
to students
pruned wildly grown tree or plant branches
plucked off weeds or grasses
swept off rubbishes
At the end of the days activities, our AFP partners pledged a continuous commitment, cooperation and support with the
program. In return, we conveyed our gratitude and appreciation by way of awarding each AFP partner volunteers a
certificate of participation and appreciation during the Brigada Eskwela 2017 closing ceremony.
And in general, Brigada Eskwela 2017 program of the General Mamerto Natividad National High School was completed
successfully and satisfactorily because of the shared time, energy and efforts of the schools stakeholders and other
partners collectively. With this, we guarantee that the school is now well prepared to be the second home of the
learners being hazard-free, conducive and enjoyable place to stay in.
